Property Details

Hillside Cottage is an immaculate semi-detached cottage just behind the dunes, tucked away down a small private lane. With a fabulous enclosed garden it's the ideal location for a holiday with friends or family. Access to the dunes is via a track nearby, and you can be on the beach in just five minutes. It's also close to all the village amenities including the local pub, fish & chip shop, post office and village store.

Downstairs, the comfortable lounge has a wood burning stove and TV. A set of double doors lead through to the conservatory which has an additional sofa and the dining table. The conservatory has double doors opening onto a patio and the fabulous back garden. The well equipped kitchen has an electric cooker, hob and microwave. In the entrance lobby you'll find the fridge, a washing machine and a slimline dishwasher. There is an additional fridge/freezer in the garage along with a tumble drier. The downstairs bathroom is newly refurbished and has a shower over the bath, washbasin and WC.

Steep stairs lead up to the three bedrooms. The master bedroom has a comfortable king size bed and is at the front of the cottage. Bedroom two has a nautical theme with a 4ft bed suitable for one adult or two children. Bedroom three has a 2'6" single bed, and is at the back of the cottage from where you can see fishing huts on the dunes.

Outside, the large back garden is fully enclosed and has a choice of seating areas with a large round wooden patio table and chairs stored in the garage. Please note there is a small pond in the back garden and therefore young children must be supervised at all times. The cottage also has wifi and parking for two cars outside, and there are three adult bikes as well as two folding picnic chairs and two folding stools in the garage available for guests to use. One dog is welcome for a small charge of £15.

  • We stayed at Hillside the first week in June, we had a fantastic lovely relaxing week. We absolutely loved the house and garden and will certainly be booking to return again.

  • We have just had a lovely week in hillside cottage. The cottage is immaculate throughout and really is a home from home. The cottage is well equipped and the back garden is beautiful, secure and a really good size. The welcome basket was lovely and so thoughtful. The cottage is in a great location for all the village amenities and you are a short walk to the dunes to visit the cafe and beach. We would highly recommend. Thank you so much.

  • we have been coming to Winterton for 10 yrs and stayed in many cottages. We have just stayed at Hillside for a week it is by far the best cottage we have stayed in for many years. Our golden retriever loved the garden and so did we. Perfect location and really well equipped and spotless with loads of room, and 'normal stairs' not steep as in many other places we have stayed. what more can we say except we will be back to Hillside next year.

  • Hillside Cottage is a wonderful place to stay, we found it in every way perfect. Plenty of long walks on the dunes which our dog Molly enjoyed, then back to the cottage. Woodburner lit and time to take it easy with a glass of wine or a cup of tea. The Nelson Head Pub has good food and is dog friendly. We hired a Picnic Boat for a day on the Broads, fab. All in all a great holiday. Hillside cottage has everything and more - we are back in October!

  • Hillside is a gem of a cottage! We booked Friday to Monday which was the weekend of the the mini 'beast from the east' so due to the incredibly strong and bitterly cold wind we didn't venture out much and were extremely grateful for the woodburner which was on all day every day and kept us so cosy. We got extra wood from the local shop which had all basics we needed. The cottage is fully equipped and so comfortable. The back garden is perfect and our Layla loved it although didn't spend long in it due to the cold. We managed to walk around the beautiful village and visited the Fisherman's Return pub a couple of times and really enjoyed the food and hospitality of the very friendly staff. Dogs are allowed in too. We will definitely return as we couldn't get passed the dunes for walks due to the wind and we are desperate to see the beautiful beach.

  • Just returned home from a lovely 4 night break at Hillside. The cottage was lovely and clean, well equipped with every thing you would need for a self catering cottage.
The welcome pack left by the owner was much appreciated and the eggs were delicious. The garden at the back was a really good size and when the weather improves this will be a huge benefit. The weather for our holiday wasn't too good but there is some interesting reading about the history of Winterton which I enjoyed. Our dog Monty loves Winterton on Sea as much as us and we will be back again soon.

  • Beautiful cottage. It had everything you needed for a fantastic stay. Furnishings are first class and it was spotless. A few yards to the sand dunes which my dog loved. Would highly recommend this cottage

  • Beautiful village, wonderful cottage, lazy days spent on the beach. Lovely walks, typical English weather but didn't dampen our resolve. Thank you for the loan of your home.
