Tucked away down a quiet loke in the centre of Winterton, Bobtail Cottage is a superb two bedroom barn conversion - ideal for a couple or small family. The beach is an easy 5-10 minute walk away, and Bobtail Cottage is an ideal base for exploring this special part of Norfolk.

Property Details

Bobtail Cottage is a fantastic two bedroom barn conversion with original flint walls throughout the property. The front door opens into a light and airy living room, with a Smart TV, Freesat and Netflix. Through the living room, there's a dining area, and well equipped kitchen with an electric oven and hob, microwave, fridge/freezer, dishwasher and a washer/drier.

The main bedroom has a comfortable king size bed, and the second bedroom has a 3' single bed. In the bathroom, there's a walk-in shower, wash basin and WC. The cottage has heating throughout.

Bobtail Cottage is one of five barn conversions in a small development. Outside there's an enclosed gravel area at the front, with patio furniture and a barbecue for guests to use. There is free wifi, and off road parking for one car, with additional on road parking nearby in the village. Up to three dogs are welcome at Bobtail Cottage - the beach is only 5-10 minutes walk away and is dog friendly all year round.

Bobtail Cottage is right next to Natterjack so it's possible to rent both properties together for a larger group.

The cottage is convenient for everywhere. A lovely place to stay. The welcome pack was well received and our dog loved her treats. Lots of lovely walks from the doorstep. Good food in the pub and the tea room.

This was my third visit to stay in Bobtail cottage, the sixth time to Winterton-on-sea and I never tire of it. The first 3 times was with my Husband Nigel and our dog Cody. Sadly Nigel passed away 3 years ago and Cody passed away 2 years ago, even though I am now on my own, I decided I would love to go back to Winterton and stay at Bobtail Cottage, as I feel safe and have many happy memories from there. The village is a very friendly place and I enjoy going to Poppies, The fish and chip shop and The Fisherman’s Return for meals. Tanya is very kind and helpful and keeps the cottage immaculate, nothing is too much for her.

Lovely property, we visit Winterton several times a year & have never before been able to book Bobtail. Perfect size for us & well equipped for a weekend stay, would look to stay here again. Thanks, Dave, Jan & Bert.

What an absolutely delightful cottage. Everything you need for your stay, very clean & tidy, and a wonderful welcome pack. Village people so friendly, pub great, fish & chips great. Beautiful beaches, even the seals come to look at you. Fabulous place to chill & relax

Lovely place with all you need for a quiet break away! Clean, comfortable and lovely!! Love the ‘doggy touches’ very much! Would certainly recommend for couples with dogs - it’s lovely to find somewhere of this standard that allows dogs. Definitely will be booking again!

This was our first proper holiday with our rescue fox terrier Stevie. Delighted that there was plenty of room for his crate in the cottage. He loved his walks around Winterton and further afield, as of course did we. Fantastic location - we had a really lovely stay.

We had a great stay at Bobtail Cottage from 31st March-7th April 2023. The cottage was perfect for us and exceptionally clean and tidy. The welcome pack was the best we have ever experienced - Thank you to Tanya who was always available is we needed anything. We would definitely stay here again and would recommend the location as really near the beach and the local pub that served great meals.

We loved our stay at Bobtail Cottage. Tanya was great and so helpful, nothing was a problem, she even popped some tea towels round after I couldn’t find them. We enjoyed daily walks on the beach every morning followed by hot chocolate from the airstream. We went for dinner at the Fisherman’s and we had fish and chips back at the cottage. The cottage was really cosy and was a joy to stay in. Our dog Milo loved it too. We will definitely be back!

Had a lovely four day stay in Bobtail Cottage. Although I was working I managed to take breaks and walk my setter along the beach everyday. Lovely and peaceful with the bonus of eating out at the Fisherman in the village. Excellent food as always.
I do come to Winterton each year having once lived here back in the 70s as a teenager.

Had a lovely week at bobtail cottage the bed so comfy and all you need there Tanya sorted battery out for fire alarm quickly we had fish and chips and visited the Fisherman's return for meals and drinks made very welcome this is our second time at Winterton and won't be the last the weather was good to us we will be back.

I have just had a five day stay in Bobtail Cottage in Winterton-on-sea, I have stayed in the cottage once before with my late husband and our dog Cody, sadly my husband passed away 2 years ago and Cody our dog who was 14 had to be put to sleep about 3 months ago.Because we had enjoyed our stay in Winterton several times before and I was receiving emails from the Winterton Cottages site, I thought yes I need to get away from some sea air and to relax, and knowing the Bobtail Cottage was well equipped and clean and welcoming I booked it. I’ve never gone away on my own before, but I found the village very welcoming and enjoyed my meals in the Fisherman’s Return and Poppies tea room, also the Airstream Caravans on the Dunes. Now I’ve experienced a holiday on my own in Winterton I wouldn’t hesitate to do it again. Thanks to Carina the owner and Tanya the cleaner I felt they were two people I could contact with any problems and felt very safe and comfortable.

Our second visit to Bobtail Cottage, we enjoyed it just as much as the first! Everything we needed was on hand and Tanya the housekeeper was super helpful with sorting out queries very promptly. So nice to have easy access from the door to walking both in the dunes and across country, the weather was cooler than our last visit but that meant we could walk further and we had the fun of inquisitive seals following us in the sea as we walked along the beach, which was lovely to see.

A lovely welcome for my sister and I and my dog Poppy. Nothing seemed to be too much trouble. Great cottage and a fab location near the beach and country walks the other way and close to the shop, pub, Poppy's and Chip shop. Have already recommended to friends and I will definitely be back - loved it!

We had a wonderfully relaxing stay - it's a beautiful cottage, very spacious for two people plus our large dog. He did get a bit animated by people passing on the gravel driveway by the garden area but so did most of the other dogs in the group of cottages while we were there, so we figured we were in good company! The cottage is very nicely equipped with everything we needed, and super convenient for walking to the dunes/shop/cafe/fish & chips/pub, it was so nice to be able to have everything on our doorstep while at the same time feeling like we had our own space. We'll be back, for sure!

Firstly the booking process was made so easy by Rachel at Winterton cottages as we had so many requirements between two families (we booked out Natterjack next door in addition to Bobtail which worked out perfectly!)....secondly the cottage was so beautiful! Period features, a brand new bathroom, and a little welcome pack with dog biscuits and a bottle of prosecco. The housekeeper was on hand for anything we needed or any questions and came round at the drop of the hat. The cottage is a lovely location, a quiet village and a short walk from the beach. The courtyard garden is perhaps best suited to smaller/calmer dogs - we have a large (and young) husky cross and he was very reactive to people walking past to their cottages. There is a large house with a garden that backs on to this one that had a husky too so they were a little animated with each other! The fence is made mostly from a wicker-type material, not very robust if you have beast like mine...so just something to be aware of! It was really dog friendly in every way inside, and he made himself right at home. We didn't want to leave and will 100% be using Winterton Cottages again.

Had a very pleasant stay in Bobtail Cottage at the end of January. The weather was glorious, so we lucked out on that score. The cottage was well equipped, we had a warm welcome (the welcome pack is a nice touch) and it was convenient to be in the village, close to the beach and countryside for walks and the village pub and amenities.

Great to have access to netflix on very cold winter nights when you don't want to go out in the pitch black.

We've just had our second stay in Bobtail Cottage. It is beautifully and thoughtfully maintained, comfortable and dog-friendly. Convenient walking distance for everything from the dunes and beach to the village shops and The Fisherman's Return which is our favourite pub. Easy parking which is important in Winterton-on-Sea. We love it and hope to be back again before too long.

We stayed at Bobtail Cottage in June. The cottage is out of the way and very private although still in the village for easy access to the village shops. Poppy’s tea rooms does a lovely breakfast and afternoon tea and the chip shop and pub are just around the corner. The cottage was well maintained and very cosy, parking easy and extra added touches for your doggies. Tanya the housekeeper was around to help out if there was any issues which was reassuring. The sand dunes are a 5 min walk and great for walking the dogs if the beach is a bit busy. We will definitely be going again can’t wait 😜
