Sea Holly Cottage is one of the twelve famous Winterton ‘chocolate box’ thatched cottages built in 1958 as holiday houses. The cottage has recently been renovated by new owners to provide a luxury holiday home which can sleep up to seven guests in four bedrooms with two bathrooms.
Downstairs, you’ll find an open plan sitting and dining room, with a smart TV. Leading off the dining area is a well equipped kitchen with a breakfast table, granite worktops, generous storage space, an electric hob, double electric cooker/grill, microwave, fridge/freezer, washing machine and a small dishwasher. French doors in both the dining area and kitchen lead out to the patio garden. Please note the wood burner pictured in the living room isn’t connected and cannot be used due to the height of the chimney and the proximity of the thatched roof.
The downstairs bedroom has a standard 3’ single bed, and the downstairs shower room is right next door with a walk in shower cubicle, power shower, wash basin and W/C.
Stairs lead from the hallway up to three double bedrooms on the first floor. The two bedrooms at the front of the cottage each have comfortable king size double beds, and the back bedroom has a two standard 3’ twin single beds. Also at the back of the cottage is a large family bathroom which has a freestanding bath, separate walk in shower cubicle with a power shower, washbasin and WC.
At the rear of the cottage is a sunny, paved, fully enclosed garden, and to the front the cottage overlooks a small village green which guests are welcome to use. The house has oil-fired central heating and there is space for two cars to park outside the cottage with further free parking available nearby in the village. Up to two dogs are welcome at Sea Holly Cottage free of charge.

Location
Sea Holly Cottage is located in the heart of Winterton-on-Sea, a pretty unspoilt village perched on the Norfolk Coast. It only takes five minutes to walk to long sandy beaches which are dog friendly all year round.
The local Fisherman’s Return pub (dog friendly) serves good food, and is a two minute walk from the property. Also in the village within walking distance you’ll find the village shop, Poppy’s post office and tea rooms (we can recommend the breakfasts), a fish & chip shop and Seal View café at the beach.
There’s an excellent choice of walks right from the doorstep, and Winterton Dunes is designated an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB). From the end of November to the beginning of January it’s pupping season for the local grey seal colony, with literally thousands of them on Horsey beach just 10 mins drive from Winterton. It’s an amazing sight to see.
For cyclists there’s a great choice of routes and trails to enjoy. A little further afield the Norfolk Broads offers scenic boat trips or hire your own boat for the day. There’s also fishing, kayaking, canoeing and paddleboarding available.

Lovely few days spent at Sea Holly Cottage, a lot of thought has gone in to the furnishings and decor very arts and craft we loved it. Garden was a great sun trap and we spent the warm evenings enjoying a glass of fizz in the garden. The house is equipped with everything you need for a lovely break, with super comfy beds. The house is 5 mins from the beach, and 2 mins from the shop, chippy and Poppy’s tearoom and about 10 seconds to the pub across the road - what more could you ask for? Thank you Owen for letting us stay in your lovely home.

Beautiful cottage, very well located and has everything you need. It’s a shame there was scaffolding round the whole house due to roof being re-thatched, so didn’t see the real beauty. Would deffo come back again. Thank you.
