Location

Robin's Rest is in a quiet rural location, just a 5 minute drive from Winterton-on-Sea's local amenities including pub, tea rooms, fish and chip shop and beach.

There’s an excellent choice of walks nearby and Winterton Dunes is designated an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB). From the end of November to the beginning of January it’s pupping season for the local grey seal colony, with literally thousands of them on Horsey beach just 10 mins drive from Winterton. It’s an amazing sight to see.

The seaside town of Gt Yarmouth is only a 15 minute drive away, with a sandy beach, end of pier entertainment, Sea Life centre, amusement arcades, pleasure beach, bowling, cinemas, Venetian Waterways, crazy golf and much more. Norwich is a 40 minute drive away, and offers shopping, museums, restaurants and a choice of theatres.

Robins Rest is small but has absolutely everything you need. It is exceptionally clean and everything has been well thought out to make your stay more comfortable. The welcome pack is an added bonus. I wish we’d have gone earlier in the year when we could have enjoyed sitting out in the garden in the evening. It’s a quiet relaxing location with beaches a short distance away and a National Trust sight just down the road. Dunes cafe is a great place to stop dog friendly and lovely food.

Absolutely loved our stay at Robins Rest. Everything you need is supplied. Loved the blankets and towels for the dog especially, even though we bought our own they were still very much needed. Lovely relaxing in the garden and summerhouse when we had a storm. Apart from visiting Winterton on the Friday before check in and driving out to get fish and chips after check in, we just relaxed at home. My only complaint, which is very small! We couldn't look down the garden from the table on decking as the plants are too tall!

We chose here for the closeness of Winterton on Sea beach. This was a break with our dog. She loved it. The place has everything (and more) that you need. Very thoughtful touches. Loved the full size bath sheets - a nice touch. The welcome pack was very nice. Loved the field next door . Such a quiet place to stay. Don’t hesitate to book. We wished we had booked for longer & I'm sure we will be back .

Robin’s Rest is an amazing place to stay if you want a peaceful, chilled break. We having been coming to Norfolk for many years and normally we stay in the lovely Winterton On Sea, especially for the dunes and beach, but we saw this lovely place, just a 5 minute drive from Winterton On Sea, at a great price and thought we would give it a go, especially after reading all the positive reviews. We were not disappointed. It has everything you need for a short break and well equipped for self-catering. Everything was spotlessly clean and the complimentary goodies the owners left for us were very welcomed. The garden exceeded our expectations. It was lovely to have a summer house to sit in when the weather was not being kind and when we did have the sun, the sunbeds were the best to relax and chill. We took our little dog with us and it was lovely to be able to let him roam the garden without worrying if he could get out as it is fully enclosed. Also there is a paddock behind the property where we could walk him too. All in all Robin’s Rest is at the top of our list for places to stay in that area of Norfolk and we will be back to stay again in the near future.

What a wonderful place Robins Rest was. Lovely and quiet but near to villages. Nice open space at back of property for morning walk with my dog. Thank you for the lovely welcome pack, most appreciated. Loved the summer house too. Thanks so much, Julie 😊

On arrival at Robin's Rest on Monday afternoon, we were immediately impressed with the large, well cared-for garden. Plenty of shade made it perfect for our dog to sit out in during the heat of the day. There were also a lot of outdoor seating options, including a small decking area with table and chairs, sun-loungers on the lawn, and benches in the barbecue area and next to the summerhouse. Inside, we were welcomed with a nice bottle of wine and snacks. The lounge/kitchen was small but well-equipped, and had all we needed during our stay. Bathroom was clean and modern, with a good shower and plenty of towels provided, and the bedroom very comfortable. We also took advantage of the adjoining field to stretch our dog's legs in the early morning and evening, and take in the lovely views across the countryside. A lovely location, being only a short distance to the beach at either Winterton or Hemsby. We had a very enjoyable stay, and would happily come here again.

I booked this barn conversion for my daughter and me for a week away. The accommodation was lovely very well equipped and clean. The garden was large with a summerhouse and plenty of garden furniture and cushions together with a decking area sheltered from breeze and a bbq area at the rear. I would recommend this property unreservedly. There was also a welcome gift on arrival and a pint of milk provided in fridge.

Dog friendly and safe garden. Treats for the dogs, toys, and bedding. Would highly recommend a stay at Robins Rest.

Fantastic location for touring the Norfolk broads. Accommodation was clean with everything we needed. The enclosed garden was great for our dog as was the adjoining paddock which also doubled up as a golf chipping range. The garden has different seating areas which we took full advantage of as the weather was really hot. Great hosts and will have no hesitation in returning and recommending.

We were VERY impressed with the extra effort made by the owners in providing items such as an umbrella,9 boot rack, games and information about the local area. Facilities for us and our dog were first class. We have already told our family and friends to check out the cottage. The two cottages would be ideal for a family holiday.

We have just had a lovely week at Robin’s Rest, the accommodation was great and comfortable, with everything we needed. Our pup Stella absolutely loved sitting on the decking watching the birds and loved the paddock, all very secure for her. We were reluctant to leave as the weather was also glorious. Will go back for sure!

We have just returned from a short break at Robin's Rest and cannot say enough how much we enjoyed it. The cleanliness was superb, the facilities great and luckily the weather was ok as well. It was in a really relaxing area surrounded by fields and quietness. We hope to return next year.

We're just home from a gloriously hot long weekend away staying at Robin's Rest and we had a lovely time. The property is such a great base for long country walks and visits to the surrounding villages. The garden is a great size for dogs and catches the sun all day long - we made good use of the loungers. The adjoining paddock was an unexpected bonus for our ball chasing terrier - we didn't really think we would use it but actually, the pupster was always so excited to go out there and it was a nice way to start and end the day. The property has everything you might need for some quiet time away from home and the scrumptious cookies a lovely touch. Would not hesitate to recommend.
