Description

Set in a peaceful rural location just outside Winterton-on-Sea, this ground floor apartment offers relaxed, comfortable accommodation for two. The partly screened sleeping area features a cosy king-size bed, wardrobe and drawers – ideal for a romantic break or a getaway with a friend.

The lounge area includes a futon sofa bed, dining table for two, TV and coffee table, with French doors overlooking the extensive gardens. The futon can be made up as a separate bed if preferred, making the layout flexible for two friends sharing.

A separate, fully equipped kitchen provides a fridge, electric cooker and microwave, along with a small dining table for two. Adjacent is a wet room with shower, WC and basin. A stable door from the kitchen opens onto the west-facing courtyard entrance. There is ample on-site parking and level access to the property.

French doors lead out to a fully enclosed garden with outdoor table and chairs, enjoying views across surrounding fields. A bridle path runs beside the property and can be reached via a winding path through the trees, offering a safe and scenic walk into Winterton.

Two dogs stay free of charge at Martin’s Nest and are welcome throughout the property. They’re welcome on the sofa too, provided you bring your own throws.

Location

Martin's Nest is an easy 10-15 minute walk from Winterton with safe and quiet footpaths to lead you to and from the village and beach. Winterton holds a host of amenities including local shop, post office and pub. There are lots of walks straight from the doorstep - ideal for walking, cycling or running. The area is great for bird watching and seal spotting too.

There’s an excellent choice of walks nearby and Winterton Dunes is designated an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB). From the end of November to the beginning of January it’s pupping season for the local grey seal colony, with literally thousands of them on Horsey beach just 10 mins drive from Winterton. It’s an amazing sight to see.

For cyclists there’s a great choice of routes and trails to enjoy. A little further afield the Norfolk Broads offers scenic boat trips or hire your own boat for the day. There’s also fishing, kayaking, canoeing and paddleboarding available.

The seaside town of Gt Yarmouth is only a 15 minute drive away, with a sandy beach, end of pier entertainment, Sea Life centre, amusement arcades, pleasure beach, bowling, cinemas, Venetian Waterways, crazy golf and much more. Norwich is a 40 minute drive away, and offers shopping, museums, restaurants and a choice of theatres.

We had a wonderful stay at Martins Nest. We were greeted on arrival by Diane the owner who informed us about the cottage and garden and showed us around very welcoming lovely lady. There was everything you needed to start your stay including milk and some delicious brownies which were very welcome. The cottage is beautifully presented and has a comfortable bed and all home comforts. Located well for a walk to the beach and a private garden to relax in which we did thank you for a restful visit see you next year!

Firstly, great communication with Diane ( the owner ) even before our stay. Diane was also there to greet us and waved good bye when we left this beautiful place. If you want a nice peaceful place to stay with privacy, Martin's Nest is perfect! We loved it here, it's so peaceful, quiet and the grounds are outstanding. Our dog loved having it's own private enclosed garden especially with the french windows opening out towards the patio and grassed area. We'll definitely be back here sometime in the near future. Thank you Diane for your hospitality and a great four days break in Martin's Nest.

Had a wonderful few days at Martins Nest. Was an ideal place for just us two & our dog, had everything we needed & was in walking distance to the village & the beach. Diane the owner was very helpful & was just next door if we needed anything. Would definitely return.

Very quiet, comfortable and peaceful location / accommodation. A great place to unwind and explore the beauty of the Norfolk broads and beaches. WiFi a tad erratic at times.

Very relaxing short break, very comfortable accommodation with a lovely garden for dogs. A short walk to the amazing beach and dunes. Would definitely recommend.

Great short break, spacious accommodation in a rural setting with a lovely garden. Perfect for just me and my dog! The walk in to Winterton, and to the beach, is very nice, and especially lovely at sunset. Diane the host was very friendly and welcoming, and I definitely hope to return next year!

We had a relaxing stay at Martin's Nest. Lovely accommodation for us both and our dog who really enjoyed the enclosed garden. Very clean and everything we needed, provided by our lovely host Diane. Good location, very peaceful and an easy walk in to Winterton on Sea.
