Description

Eva’s Lookout is a modern ‘upside down’ house with a spacious open plan living area upstairs, making the most of the fabulous view over Winterton Valley and out towards the sea. The fantastic location is right next to steps with direct access to the valley and beach, plus the house is walking distance from the village pub, shops and Poppy's tea rooms.

Through the front door you step into a hallway with wooden stairs leading to the living area upstairs. All the bedrooms and bathrooms are downstairs. The master suite has a superking bed, and direct access to the garden with sea views. It also has a dressing area, and ensuite bathroom with separate bath and shower. Bedroom two has a king size bed, direct access to the garden with sea views and an ensuite with a shower over the bath. The third bedroom has adult size bunk beds (3' wide), and has sea views from the window, whilst bedroom four is at the front of the house with two 3' single beds. There is also a family bathroom downstairs with a shower, wash basin and WC.

The house is in such a fantastic position, and the ‘upside down’ design makes the most of the sea views with an open plan living area occupying the whole of the second floor. The vast wall-to-wall glass doors span the length of the house, and open out to a large balcony. The designer kitchen incorporates modern appliances including a dishwasher, fridge/freezer and microwave, and there is a comfortable lounge area with TV/DVD. There is a washing machine in the downstairs utility room. For dining options there’s a choice of inside at the large table which seats eight, or a table and seating outside on the balcony. A gas barbecue is provided for guests.

There is plentiful off road parking in front of the house, and the back garden is fully enclosed. Up to two dogs are welcome. Please note for security reasons, CCTV covers the driveway to the property.

Location

Eva's Lookout is situated on the outskirts in Winterton-on-Sea, a pretty unspoilt village perched on the Norfolk Coast. It only takes 5-10 min to walk to long sandy beaches which are dog friendly all year round.

The local Fisherman’s Return pub (dog friendly) serves good food, and is a short walk away. Also in the village within walking distance you’ll find the village shop, Poppy’s post office and tea rooms (we can recommend the breakfasts), a fish & chip shop and Seal View café at the beach.

There’s an excellent choice of walks right from the doorstep, and Winterton Dunes is designated an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB). From the end of November to the beginning of January it’s pupping season for the local grey seal colony, with literally thousands of them on Horsey beach just 10 mins drive from Winterton. It’s an amazing sight to see.

For cyclists there’s a great choice of routes and trails to enjoy. A little further afield the Norfolk Broads offers scenic boat trips or hire your own boat for the day. There’s also fishing, kayaking, canoeing and paddleboarding available.

For families, the seaside town of Gt Yarmouth is only a 15 minute drive away, with a sandy beach, end of pier entertainment, Sea Life centre, amusement arcades, pleasure beach, bowling, cinemas, Venetian Waterways, crazy golf and much more. We also recommend the award winning BeWILDerwood an outdoor tree house adventure park with zip wires, jungle bridges, marsh walks and boat rides - just a 20 minute drive away near Horning. Wroxham Barns is nearby with independent shops, craft studios, a kids' farm, funfair and restaurant.

The fine city of Norwich is a 40 minute drive away, and offers shopping, museums, restaurants and a choice of theatres.

There’s a great choice of places to eat out locally including beachside cafes, local pubs and fine dining restaurants and we provide all guests with a comprehensive list in our digital welcome information.

Really enjoyed our stay at Eva's Lookout, the house itself is fantastic, very well equipped, plenty of off road parking, and the sea views are just amazing. The location is great with direct access to the dunes and beach so perfect for walking the dogs, and It's only a short walk to the village where there is a pub, local shop, and very nice fish and chips. We really couldn't find fault, and enjoyed our stay so much we've already booked to stay again later in the year.

This is a wonderful holiday home and an absolutely beautiful space to spend time in. You can spend all day just watching the light over the sea or you can be more active walking the dunes for hours, or going to the lovely beach cafe. It is really well equipped - we wanted for nothing. I would highly recommend. Honestly, if it ever comes up for sale, I would buy it!

A fantastic stay, in a fantastic property. - Communication from the owner was extremely quick and she was incredibly accommodating. - The property was stunning - in great condition and very clean. - The views from the balcony were beautiful, from sunrise to sunset. When you have the door open you can also hear the waves in the distance. - I was travelling alone with my dog, and felt very safe & secure there. - The access to the dunes & beach was even better than expected. While the steps down are steep, they have metal on them to help avoid slipping and handrails either side. - The beach was almost otherworldly. I visited in early January when there was frost and snow, and seal cub season also. I don't think I've ever experienced a beach like it. In the mornings at sunrise there was almost no one there, so you felt like you had it to yourself - other than the seals, who you'd find along the beach and the dunes! Overall, it was one of the best stays I've had on a UK break, and I really can't wait to return in the future.

We had a lovely 4 days at Eva’s Lookout. An amazing house and location with stunning view. Very peaceful while we were there, just the distant sound of crashing waves - bliss.

We had a lovely 5 days in Eva's Lookout. We found this after reading an article on a lady taking her dog on a holiday after Covid, so knew it was a great place to take our dogs. The house is absolutely lovely could not find one fault and very well equipped. The only downside to our holiday was eating out, we could not find anywhere that nice to eat and a lot of the pubs were not serving food on certain days which was disappointing but could highly recommend Eva's Lookout it is in the most wonderful location and the beach is lovely.

Had a fabulous holiday at Eva's Lookout with family. The house was great, well equipped and very comfortable. The stair gate, cot and highchair were great for daughter's toddler. The view from the balcony is beautiful and we loved being able to walk to the beach every morning to enjoy the surroundings. We enjoyed days out in local area and was great to walk to Winterton for pub lunch or coffee at tearoom or kiosk on beach. Would love to return in the future.

My family had a great new year in Eva’s Lookout. The house was clean and comfortable with everything we needed. The view was amazing with plenty of walks in the area. The local pub was good too! We will definitely be back.

One of the best value properties I have ever stayed in. The dune and beach access is second to none. We stayed over Christmas and they even provided a tree and many thoughtful touches. Will be staying again. Thank you!
