Description

Beachcomber is a mid terrace three bedroom cottage, renovated by the current owners to provide a comfortable and stylish holiday home. Located just two minutes walk from the dunes, Beachcomber offers easy access to the beach and is walking distance from all the local amenities in the village including the local pub, fish & chip shop, post office and village store.

Downstairs, the living room has comfortable sofas, a wood burning stove, and a TV. A door leads through to the spacious kitchen diner, which is well equipped with a large electric cooker, hob, fridge freezer, dishwasher and microwave. The kitchen door opens out into the back garden where you'll find the shed which houses the washing machine. Beyond the kitchen there's a downstairs bedroom with a trundle bed, giving the choice of either a 2'6" single in that room, two 2'6" singles next to one another when the lower bed is pulled out. There's also a downstairs bathroom with a WC and washbasin.

Upstairs there are two spacious bedrooms. The master bedroom at the front of the cottage has a comfortable kingsize bed, and the second bedroom has twin 2'6" single beds which can be converted to a kingsize double bed on request. At the back of the cottage upstairs is the large modern bathroom with a bath, separate walk in shower, WC and washbasin.

There is off road parking for one car, with other free parking on the road outside. Up to three dogs are welcome at Beachcomber - the back garden is fully enclosed and is part paved, part gravel. Dogs are welcome throughout the property. If they join you on the furniture, please use the throws provided.

Location

Beachcomber is perfectly situated in Winterton-on-Sea, a pretty unspoilt village perched on the Norfolk Coast. It only takes 5-10 min to walk to long sandy beaches which are dog friendly all year round.

The local Fisherman’s Return pub (dog friendly) serves good food, and is a 5 minute walk from Beachcomber. Also in the village within walking distance you’ll find the village shop, Poppy’s post office and tea rooms (we can recommend the breakfasts), a fish & chip shop and Seal View café at the beach.

There’s an excellent choice of walks right from the doorstep, and Winterton Dunes is designated an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB). From the end of November to the beginning of January it’s pupping season for the local grey seal colony, with literally thousands of them on Horsey beach just 10 mins drive from Winterton. It’s an amazing sight to see.

For cyclists there’s a great choice of routes and trails to enjoy. A little further afield the Norfolk Broads offers scenic boat trips or hire your own boat for the day. There’s also fishing, kayaking, canoeing and paddleboarding available.

For families, the seaside town of Gt Yarmouth is only a 15 minute drive away, with a sandy beach, end of pier entertainment, Sea Life centre, amusement arcades, pleasure beach, bowling, cinemas, Venetian Waterways, crazy golf and much more. We also recommend the award winning BeWILDerwood an outdoor tree house adventure park with zip wires, jungle bridges, marsh walks and boat rides - just a 20 minute drive away near Horning. Wroxham Barns is nearby with independent shops, craft studios, a kids' farm, funfair and restaurant.

The fine city of Norwich is a 40 minute drive away, and offers shopping, museums, restaurants and a choice of theatres.

This house is in a quiet residential road, just 2 minutes walk from the extensive dunes and the sandy beach. It is fully dog friendly, with a walled rear garden to keep them safe. It's well equipped and spacious, and in good order.

The whole experience was amazing from the time we arrived to when we left. Beautiful warm cottage with everything you would need for a peaceful weekend away with the pack! Rachel was so helpful and couldn't help us enough when we had to reschedule due to one of the dogs needing emergency surgery. The dogs loved it and it was so welcoming for them. We can't wait to go back!!

For a holiday that you want to park you car up and not use again until you leave, this is perfect place to stay 2 minutes and you are on the Dunes which you can walk for miles. The village has everything you need Pub, Shop, Post Office/Tea Room and Fish & Chip shop, Beachcomber a lovely equipped property with everything that you need for your stay this is the 3rd time we have stayed here and we will be booking again.

The house was in a brilliant location with everything we needed in walking distance. Very clean and comfortable. Very dog friendly, our dog loved the treats in the welcome pack we received. Would recommend and will be back.

4th stay & 3rd this year. Everything as usual except the weather, limited dog walks as too hot. Luckily the property is comfortable to spend time in & we finally made use of the garden as we usually come in the colder months. As ever great communication from the owners, looking at our diary to book another stay.

4th stay at Beachcomber and another booked for June. As always the cottage was well presented & is perfect for a break with the family & dog. We especially like the proximity to the dunes & village amenities with the fish & chip shop, local shop & pub. We shall definitely look to book again for later in the year.

The welcome basket which included a treat for the dog was appreciated. We enjoyed being able to walk for what seemed like miles over the sand dunes. The property and the village is dog friendly. The village has a tea room, pub, and convenience store. There are also food stalls on the beach car park. We used all of those. We would happily go back.

Beachcomber was the perfect cottage for a family weekend away exploring Norfolk. The cottage was clean, tidy and had everything we needed. Very dog friendly too! The beach was an easy walk even for elderly parents and excellent fish and chip shop in the village. I would definitely recommend!

We’ve stayed in Winterton 7 times, first time at Beachcomber. The house is in an ideal position in the village & perfect for a short or long stay. Everything we could have needed was supplied and we will look to book again if available.

Our first visit to Winterton and Beachcomber didn’t disappoint. It is in a fabulous location, just a few minutes walk to the dunes and walkable to all amenities in Winterton. The cottage is spacious, comfortable and very well-equipped. The cottage is truly dog-friendly with throws for the furniture, dog bowls and other equipment and even a crate do you don’t have to take your own. Our two dogs loved their holiday at Beachcomber, as did we and we can highly recommend it.

We have visited Winterton On Sea several times and are never disappointed. The Beachcomber is a lovely cottage and is so dog friendly! It is decorated tastefully through out and has everything you could need. The beds are very comfortable and the shower was great after a run over the dunes. The welcome basket was greatly appreciated on our arrival too😊 We will be back 🥰🥰
