Family Days Out & Halloween Fun for October 2026
If you’re heading to the Norfolk coast this October half term, pack the wellies – and perhaps a witch’s hat too! From pumpkin picking and spooky circus shows to woodland adventures and underwater Halloween fun, there’s plenty happening to keep the whole family entertained. Here are some of our favourite October half-term activities in Norfolk for 2026.
Pick a Pumpkin at Hirsty’s Halloween Hoot
If pumpkin picking is an essential part of your autumn, head to Hirsty’s Family Fun Park in Hemsby. Halloween Hoot runs from 24–31 October during half term, with families able to choose a pumpkin from the patch before carving it in the covered carving area. There’s also a Halloween-themed Mega Maze, plus Hirsty’s usual outdoor fun including jumping pillows, a zip wire, barrel train and hay bale mountain.
Halloween Spooktacular at the Hippodrome
For a Halloween treat whatever the weather, the historic Hippodrome Circus in Great Yarmouth brings back its popular Halloween Spooktacular from 22 October to 1 November. Promising “spooks, not scares”, it’s designed for the whole family, combining comedy with international circus performers, aerial acts and spectacular stunts. A great choice if an autumn downpour makes an indoor activity particularly appealing!
Dive into the Ascarium
Things are getting spooky beneath the waves too. SEA LIFE Great Yarmouth becomes the Ascarium from 3 October to 1 November. Alongside exploring the aquarium and meeting its fascinating marine life, children can take part in Halloween-themed challenges and activities. Best of all, the Ascarium event is included with normal SEA LIFE admission.
Halloween at BeWILDerwood
For an outdoor adventure with plenty of Halloween magic, venture into the woods at BeWILDerwood Norfolk. During half term, 24 October–1 November, the woods are transformed with Halloween crafts, spooky storytelling and Twig or Treating. Children can climb, slide and explore during the day before following the colourful Glowing Light Trail through the woods as daylight fades.
Magic & Mischief at Wroxham Barns
There’s more spellbinding fun at Wroxham Barns from 23 October to 1 November. Join Wilma the Witch for potion making, spell casting and Broomstick Bootcamp, or follow her magical trail through the maize maze. The Adventure Farm offers even more to do, including animal encounters, adventure play, mini golf and indoor soft play. There’s also a Pumpkin Patch to explore until 31 October.
Even More Halloween Fun
Still looking for ideas? Joyland’s Spooky Snail Trail takes place on 26, 28 and 31 October, with evening rides, Halloween characters, face painting and entertainment. For something a little quieter, Fairhaven Woodland and Water Garden has a school-holiday Wonder Wednesday on 28 October and pumpkin carving on 29 October.
