Property Details

Situated in Fisherman’s Crescent, Periwinkle has to be one of the best looking cottages in Winterton-on-Sea. It sleeps up to eight people in four bedrooms, with two bathrooms. The central location within the village means you don’t have to worry about driving anywhere, everything is within walking distance including the beach, pub, village shops and Dunes café.

Through the front door you step into a hallway with plenty of hanging space for coats, and a rack for boots and shoes. Stairs go up to the first floor, with twin doors to the left on the ground floor leading to a shower room and bathroom. To the right leads into the sitting/dining room with pretty views over the front garden and into The Lane. There is a fireplace with electric log effect fire, and comfortable sofas and seating for up to eight people. The owners have installed a flat screen TV with DVD player and Bose iPod dock, and provided a choice of DVDs, books and board games. Towards the back of the room the large dining table seats eight comfortably, and a highchair is provided. Patio doors lead out to the back garden.

The country style kitchen has a range cooker, butler sink, beech worktops and fired earth tiles. There is a dishwasher, washing machine, and a free standing fridge freezer. A microwave, toaster and kettle are also provided and the kitchen is very well equipped. The stable style door offers views and access to the rear garden.

Upstairs there are four beautifully furnished, comfortable bedrooms. Two of the bedrooms have double beds, and the other two are twin rooms with standard single beds. There is also an upstairs toilet.

There is free parking at the front of the cottage outside the front garden. There is access to the south facing rear garden to the left of the cottage, or from either the French doors leading from the dining room or the kitchen door. There is garden furniture on the patio, and the garden is fully enclosed. Up to two medium size dogs are welcome for a small charge of £15 per dog, and there is unlimited free wi-fi for guests.

  • Just returned from a week's stay at this beautiful cottage ( 2 adults and our dog) . It is clean, comfortable, has everything you could need for a home from home. Great location, near to dunes and beach. The village pub/restaurant is opposite and serves great food. The lady next door is really helpful. We had a great time and wouldn't hesitate to come back

  • Just returned from a short break at the picture-postcard property 'Periwinkle Cottage'. The pre-booking email communication was extremely response and the booking/payment easy. The Cottage is exactly like the photos... so pretty both inside and out. It has everything you need and is extremely well maintained, and kept very clean and tidy. We stayed here over Easter with two sets of older parents, two teenagers and a small dog. We were lucky to have some gorgeous, if not a bit windy, days which we spent walking on the beach, and out and about locally. In our opinion, the lovely sandy beach at Winterton is better than any Mediterranean beach we have ever visited (and we have been to quite a few). To walk from Winterton along the beach to the next busy and lively resort of Hemsby takes about 50-60 minutes. You can have a tea or coffee and toasted tea cake at the Hemsby beach cafe, and then walk back through the Dunes for a different view on the way home. Just in time for lunch, or a another cake from the delicious selection on offer at the Winterton Dunes Cafe. We also visited Yarmouth Stadium for something different to do, and again, can highly recommend this. Winterton-on-Sea is a lovely village and extremely dog-friendly. The pub opposite Periwinkle Cottage is also well worth a visit, or two! We couldn't ask for a more perfect get-away-from-it-all break and hope to come back soon.
