  • Just back from at wonderful week in Winterton at Natterjack. What a fabulous place, the owners have literally thought of everything and the little touches are so lovely; the picnic set, the dog tags, binculars...everthing is perfect. The garden is beautiful and so dog freindly. We loved it! Fish and Chip shop brilliant, beach and cafe amazing and so easy to drive to everywhere in Norfolk. Thank you - we will return!

  • This was our 4th holiday to Winterton-on-Sea and our 2nd stay at the beautiful Natterjack Cottage. We take lots of staycations in the UK and I can honestly say that Natterjack is by far our favourite. The Cottage is well equipped, spotlessly clean and very dog friendly.
Winterton has everything you need on your doorstep, pub, fish & chips, local shop, tea room, beach cafe plus amazing dog friendly beach and dunes to explore. I would highly recommend for families and people looking for a great dog friendly holiday.

  • Wonderful weekend at beautiful, fabulously equipped, very pet friendly cottage. Loved the cottage and location. Great fish and chip shop (preorder to avoid wait!). Everyone we met were very friendly. Fabulous walks on beautiful sandy beach and sand dunes. Very special to see seals on the beach at Horsey. Highly recommend.

  • We had a great 4 night stay - the cottage was well equipped & comfortable. The holiday dog tags was an extra that was greatly appreciated, especially as one of our dogs ran off. Couldn’t ask for more.

  • Just home from Natterjack Cottage in Winterton On Sea, what a beautiful warm cozy comfortable cottage. It felt wonderful as soon as we walked in. The dog treats were very well received and the dog towels very useful, milk in the fridge and the cake greatly enjoyed too. We look forward to visiting this cottage again in the near future. Must also recommend the Fishermans Return - lovely friendly pub, and the perfect beach. All in all a fantastic holiday, thank you all very much for your hard work.

  • Just home from a 4 night stay at Natterjack & can’t wait to go back. We (dogs included!) had everything we would have needed including casserole dishes & potato masher! The dogs were secure in the fenced garden which meant we could all relax properly. Spotlessly clean & well decorated/designed with a seaside theme. Minutes walk to the dunes & the beachside cafe. Sad to see how the coastal erosion is affecting the area but the beach is still easily accessible from the cottage from the dunes. A fantastic stay and will definitely return. Thank you.

  • A beautiful cottage, a little paradise. Natterjack has lots of amazing touches from ambient lighting, picnic ruck sack, doggy welcome pack to milk in the fridge, we didn’t want to leave. Extremely central with a safe parking area and a great secure garden for the dogs. Feature pebble and brick walls are so cosy. I will be adding this to my favourites list. Thank you xx

  • We had a great week in Winterton. The cottage is lovely, has everything you need and more! Extremely clean and very cosy. We didn’t want to leave.
Perfect location, with the beach just a 6 minute walk! We hope to return in the future! Thank you 😊

  • Had a lovely week at Natterjack cottage and as all the reviews have said, it's a lovely place to stay and close to everything you need including the lovely Winterton beach. Other places close by to visit include Happisburgh (pronounced Hazeboro for some inexplicable reason) which you should see before it topples into the sea and the beach at nearby Cart Gap. The Fisherman's serves a good pint of Wherry and the food is good as well. Winterton is a great place to spend a week - especially out of season.

  • Can’t rate this cottage highly enough. Natterjack is absolutely amazing, so well equipped with everything you could possibly need and more.
The decor is beautiful and extremely clean, felt very comfortable staying here, the comfy bed gives you a good night’s sleep.
Have been coming to Winterton for the last 8 years, always a different cottage, have never been disappointed, but this one exceeds all expectations.
Have already recommended to family and friends.

  • Thoroughly recommend a stay at Natterjack. Cottage was fantastic, impeccably presented, and had all amenities covered. The owners seem to have really thought of everything including binoculars, picnic rucksack, and travel water bowl for dogs! Very convenient location for beautiful beach and dunes walks, we are keen to book another stay as soon as we can!

  • We stayed here for my husband birthday in January and it’s was perfect. Natterjack was like home from home, they have thought of everything. The welcome pack was beautiful and the dog enjoyed his treats. We were within walking distance from everything. We can’t wait to book again.

  • OMG....Natterjack!!! Where do I start? What a fabulous cottage! Everything inside was coordinated and top quality and a lovely welcome pack was waiting for us and our dog. Gorgeously warm and cozy inside and a fantastic garden outside, literally did not want to leave, ever!! Was lovely to meet Mandy, the owner and we will definitely, definitely be back.

    — Cheryl Owen, 06 Feb 2023
  • We have returned from an amazing long weekend at Natterjack. What a fabulous place this is. Beautifully decorated and extremely homely. We had the log burner on every day!
Great location, only 10 minutes walk from the beach and around the corner from the local shop, tea rooms, chippy and pub!

We can't wait to return soon! 😁

    — Melanie Hill, 02 Dec 2022
  • I was a bit reluctant to leave a message as I don't want everyone to know how amazing this place is. We wouldn't have left if we didn't have to get the kids back to school. Situated 5 mins walk from the beach with a tea room, fish and chips shop and corner shop in between. The beach the had 3 vans selling hot food. Back the accommodation. 2 bedrooms 1 bathroom living room and kitchen, the facilities were simply perfect. Beautifully decorated and very welcoming. We all loved it. The dogs also were perfectly catered for with enclosed front garden they could run around in. Everything was perfect and simply not a simple complaint (apart from having kids who have to go back to school😂)

  • We have just returned from a lovely stay at Natterjack. It is a beautiful cottage with some nice little touches left by the owners to make our stay more comfortable. It was spotlessly clean and a beautiful blend of old and new, lovely lamps to read by and a really homely feel. The owners have clearly taken great care to furnish the property and it gives a lovely home from home experience. We go to Winterton twice a year to walk the dogs along the beach so we will definitely be returning.

    — Angela, 09 Oct 2022
  • Great cottage with a nice blend of period features & modern comforts situated in a good position in the village. Everything needed for a perfect stay was supplied. We have often been to Winterton & will definitely return.

    — Stephen Clarke , 07 Aug 2022
  • I had another lovely week stay and Natterjack was as welcoming as ever. Although the weather was not brilliant I made use of the garden as it is a bit of a sun trap. Plenty of walks nearby. The Little Terns were feeding their young and I could have stood on the beach looking at them diving for food for hours. Highly recommend Natterjack and with the owners taking care of it, they treat it as their own home. Thank you.

    — Susan Westwood, 12 Jul 2022
  • This was our 2nd stay at Natterjack and we were as impressed as we were the first time. It’s a lovely cottage and is very welcoming with a warm and homely feel. It is cleaned to the highest standards and is clearly cared for and looked after. All of the furniture and soft furnishings are modern and well maintained. The kitchen is great and easy to cook in with all utensils on hand. The large enclosed garden is great for children to play and games are available to use. We even made use of the buckets and spades that are available for guests. The cottage is in a great location, near to the beach, convenience store, local cafe, chip shop and pub. There is nothing to fault with this absolute gem and we’ll definitely be returning. Thank you for helping to make our stay memorable.

  • Yet another lovely stay at Natterjack and with the fine weather we had a very good week. Few new additions to make guests feel even more welcomed. New furniture in the lounge, coffee machine and 'clocks' for weather, time and a very helpful tide times. The welcome pack for humans and dogs did not disappoint. Already booked for later this year. Sue (and Pip the dog)

  • We stayed in the Natterjack barn over the Easter weekend and it was an absolute delight! We were blown away when we entered the barn and my boys asked if we could live there! They loved the beach themed bedroom and unpacked immediately to use the beach hut wardrobe. The barn was immaculate and there was a basket with tea, coffee pods and a local cake. With milk left for us in the fridge, this was a fantastic welcome. Every detail has been thought of. There are dogs bowls, a towel and a blanket left for the dog to use. There was even a tag with their mobile number on in case the dog got lost while on holiday. They had binoculars, flasks, books on local walks to use. I honestly couldn’t fault a single thing. There were even logs, kindling and firelighters left for the wood burner. This was really enjoyed on one of the chillier evenings, when we stayed in and played games. There are several games left in the cupboard! The pretty garden is fully enclosed, so my little dog loved spending time outside and exploring all the new smells. I enjoyed a peaceful couple of hours reading my book and having a gin and tonic in the sunshine - bliss! The small village is quiet and super friendly. We had a lovely lunch in the garden of Poppy’s tearoom. The local pub was great and the cafe (pop up style) serves fantastic food too. Mandy, the owner, was fantastic with her communication. She told us where to head to on the beach to see the seals and we were in luck! We saw seals swimming, a pup sunbathing and some older seals sleeping on the beach! The beach was beautiful and completely dog friendly. All in all, we had a wonderful 4 days. It was just what we needed to recharge before heading back to school and work! Thank you.

  • We had a fabulous weeks stay at Natterjack Cottage, returning on 15 April this year. My husband and youngest daughter and 5 year old grandson. We had our three dogs with us which had been approved prior to our stay. The cottage is beautiful and maintained to a high standard. Really clean and little extras like dog tags, bowls, treats were provided. We also had a cake and some milk and tea bags etc. lovely touch.
The village itself is lovely and quiet. Very dog friendly. Beach a short walk away. Everyone friendly there. We would happily book again.
We also booked the cottage next door - Bobtail- for our other daughter and family and their dog. This was a great arrangement. I have to also thank winterton cottages for being so helpful and accommodating.

  • We had a lovely break at Natterjack Cottage with our dog. The cottage was very clean, warm and comfortable with a lovely welcome pack which included treats for both us and our dog. It was also quiet with no traffic noise. The beach is a short walk away and is stunning. The pub in the village was also a short stroll from the cottage and was friendly and served good food. Overall a delightful cottage in a nice quiet village, great for coastal walking and visiting the broads.

  • We had a wonderful week at Natterjack cottage. The cottage is beautiful and decor amazing. Christmas had arrived with a lovely tree and garlands. There is every thing you could possibly need available. Every small detail thought of. There were some great books and board games for wet days and early dark nights. Netflix, Disney+ and Prime to keep you entertainied. A gentle 10 minute walk from the beach where the seals are with all their pups. A great little shop, post office, cafe, chip shop. We didn't use the car all week. Walked for miles. A wonderful magical place to stay. Both the cottage and Winterton itself. The hosts are easy to contact if needed. Highly recommended. We will definitely be staying again next year.
