Description

Marrams View is a cosy two bedroom cottage, which backs onto the dunes at Winterton-on-Sea. From the back door you're straight onto the dunes, where it's a two minute walk over to the beach.

The front door opens into a porch, which leads straight into the comfortable living room. There are two sofas and throws are provided. The cottage has electric heating throughout, as well as an electric stove in the living room. There's a smart TV with access to streaming services and Freesat. The dining room has seating for 6, and from there you go straight into the well equipped kitchen with views over the dunes. There's an integrated electric oven and microwave, hob, dishwasher, washing machine and tumble drier. The back door leads straight onto the dunes.

Upstairs bedroom one is at the front of the cottage and has a comfortable king size bed. Bedroom two has a standard double size bed and is at the back of the cottage with views over the marrams. There's a large wet room upstairs with a walk in shower, wash basin and WC.

Outside there's a good size enclosed garden with a lawned area at the front of the cottage, and outside seating where you can catch the afternoon and evening sun. At the back of the cottage the kitchen door opens onto a path leading to a patio on the edge of the dunes - this area is open and not enclosed. There is off road parking for 2/3 cars at the front of the cottage. Marrams View welcomes four dogs free of charge and are welcome throughout the property. `if they are joining you on the furniture, please use the throws provided.

Location

Marrams View is tucked away in Winterton-on-Sea, a pretty unspoilt village perched on the Norfolk Coast. It only takes 2 mins to walk to long sandy beaches which are dog friendly all year round.

The local Fisherman’s Return pub (dog friendly) serves good food, and is a 5 minute walk from the property. Also in the village within walking distance you’ll find the village shop, Poppy’s post office and tea rooms (we can recommend the breakfasts), a fish & chip shop and Seal View café at the beach.

There’s an excellent choice of walks right from the doorstep, and Winterton Dunes is designated an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB). From the end of November to the beginning of January it’s pupping season for the local grey seal colony, with literally thousands of them on Horsey beach just 10 mins drive from Winterton. It’s an amazing sight to see.

For cyclists there’s a great choice of routes and trails to enjoy. A little further afield the Norfolk Broads offers scenic boat trips or hire your own boat for the day. There’s also fishing, kayaking, canoeing and paddleboarding available.

For families, the seaside town of Gt Yarmouth is only a 15 minute drive away, with a sandy beach, end of pier entertainment, Sea Life centre, amusement arcades, pleasure beach, bowling, cinemas, Venetian Waterways, crazy golf and much more. We also recommend the award winning BeWILDerwood an outdoor tree house adventure park with zip wires, jungle bridges, marsh walks and boat rides - just a 20 minute drive away near Horning. Wroxham Barns is nearby with independent shops, craft studios, a kids' farm, funfair and restaurant.

The fine city of Norwich is a 40 minute drive away, and offers shopping, museums, restaurants and a choice of theatres.

Stayed here for 10 days, our 4th stay in WoS. Cottage is clean and comfortable, very dog friendly (throws, bowls, treat basket, stair gate etc) . Great location - view over the dunes and access from back garden. Nice to have parking outside cottage and a secure front garden for doggo to mooch around. We love WoS - beach/dune walks, pub lunches or tea, locals are so friendly too. We'll be back!!

Lovely cottage in a perfect location. 5 minutes from the beach and local shops. Clean & tidy. Very comfortable and all amenities you would need for a self catering stay. Welcome goodies for both human and furbabies were a lovely gesture.

The cottage has plenty of space, with 2 kingsize beds and a view over the dunes from the back. We loved the location, with the ability to walk straight onto the dunes from the back door. It was nice and quiet for the time we stayed yet near to all the amenities (pub, cafe, tea-room, shop) as well as the dunes and beach. We appreciated the generous treats basket (including goodies for our dogs).

We had a fantastic few days at Marrams View. The location is just perfect, straight out of the back door onto the dunes, the dogs were in heaven. The icing on the cake was seeing the seals everyday swimming close to the shore, I think we saw more seals than humans! I’d highly recommend staying here, if you like big skies, huge empty beaches, great walking and the best fish and chips 5 mins from the front door😊

Perfect for us. Very comfy beds and really clean everywhere. Loved going straight onto Dunes with dogs. The sofas were easy to nod off on . Well equipped kitchen & generous welcome baskets. The owners had thought of everything. We would definitely book it again.

We had a fabulous week at Marrams. the house was very clean and well appointed. It is in a great location being so near to the sand dunes and the beach. The welcome packs were a very pleasant touch for both the humans and the dog! Winterton is a great village to stay in with a shop, pub, fish and chip shop and an excellent cafe, Poppy's. There are some very good walks either along the coast or the Broads which are near to Winterton.

Lovely cottage very comfortable and so quiet nice spaces back and front to sit and relax lovely walk over dunes to beach which was lovely and clean with lovely sand village pub good and fish and chip shop excellent and having a shop just down the lane was handy.

First stay at Marrams View which we enjoyed. Marrams was clean and well equipped property. Welcome baskets nice touch. Secure front garden was useful as back door leads straight onto the beautiful dunes, a short walk to the beach and refreshments. Easy access to the village. Lovely peaceful stay.

We had a lovely stay at Marrams View. Clean, comfy and super quiet. Immediate access onto the dunes and a short stroll to the beach is a real treat. Mick and Martine were super helpful and have created a lovely little getaway place to stay. Give it a try. You won’t be disappointed.

What an absolute gem of a property. The location, with the endless sand dunes just out of the back door, is just amazing. We absolutely loved it. We were so lucky with the weather having chosen the first week in September, it was fabulous and almost too hot for our two dogs. Mick & Martine have really given the property lots of thought & the two welcome packs which are extremely generous, were much appreciated by us all. If you just want somewhere to chill out, do nothing but walk for miles and enjoy the amazing beach & dunes, then this is the place for you. Thank you. We really hope to return!!
