Description

Mariner's Way is tucked away in a quiet cul-de-sac, within easy walking distance of the beach, local pub, and everything else in Winterton-on-Sea village. It's a modern, detached bungalow which offers a relaxing stay for up to four adults in two bedrooms. Sorry no children allowed.

The living room has ample seating for four, a wood burning stove and smart TV with Sky. There's a separate dining area in front of the kitchen which is well equipped with an electric cooker, hob, fridge/freezer, air fryer, dishwasher and washing machine.

Each bedroom has a comfortable double bed, and there's a modern bathroom with a large shower and a separate WC. A large conservatory opens up into the back garden and is the perfect space to relax with a book or enjoy morning coffee. The garden is fully enclosed, and has a patio as well as a stunning decking area at the bottom of the garden with garden furniture.

There's a utility room at the back of the garage with outdoor games and racquets as well as storage space for bikes. Two cars can park on the drive. Please note for security reasons, CCTV operates on the property.

Two small-medium dogs are welcome at Mariner's Way at no additional charge and there's an outdoor tap to wash any dirty paws. Your dogs are welcome in all living areas (not bedrooms) and may join you on the sofa, please use the throws provided.

Location

Winterton-on-Sea is a pretty unspoilt village perched on the Norfolk Coast, with long sandy beaches which are dog friendly all year round.

The local Fisherman’s Return pub (dog friendly) serves good food, the village also has a local shop, Poppy’s post office and tea rooms (we can recommend the breakfasts), a fish & chip shop and Seal View cafe at the beach.

There’s an excellent choice of walks right from the doorstep, and Winterton Dunes is designated an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB). From the end of November to the beginning of January it’s pupping season for the local grey seal colony, with literally thousands of them on Horsey beach just 10 mins drive from Winterton. It’s an amazing sight to see.

For cyclists there’s a great choice of routes and trails to enjoy. A little further afield the Norfolk Broads offers scenic boat trips or hire your own boat for the day. There’s also fishing, kayaking, canoeing and paddleboarding available.

For families, the seaside town of Gt Yarmouth is only a 15 minute drive away, with a sandy beach, end of pier entertainment, Sea Life centre, amusement arcades, pleasure beach, bowling, cinemas, Venetian Waterways, crazy golf and much more. We also recommend the award winning BeWILDerwood an outdoor tree house adventure park with zip wires, jungle bridges, marsh walks and boat rides - just a 20 minute drive away near Horning. Wroxham Barns is nearby with independent shops, craft studios, a kids' farm, funfair and restaurant.

The fine city of Norwich is a 40 minute drive away, and offers shopping, museums, restaurants and a choice of theatres.

There’s a great choice of places to eat out locally including beachside cafes, local pubs and fine dining restaurants.

Mariners Way had everything needed and the standard of accommodation was excellent. The location was ideal in a quiet spot a short walk from the beach, the dunes, shops and pub. Our two springers also loved it.

We had a lovely week in the bungalow. Very tidy and well equipped. The garden is a real sun trap and sheltered from the Northerly wind.

Mariners Way is a very special holiday home, it is extremely comfortable in every way, the lounge has two sofas plenty of cushions, very good TV and a log burner for the colder months . Both bedrooms have very comfortable beds , wardrobes and plenty of other storage. Bathroom has a large walk in shower and an extra toilet in the property is a bonus. The kitchen is superbly equipped, you have dining options, the dining room, the conservatory and outside too . The conservatory is lovely and spacious with plenty of seating and the back garden is stunning, a really wonderful space to relax in and in the evening it lights up with lots of tiny solar lights, just lovely 😁 we were very fortunate to have a wonderful week of sunshine so spent a lot of time out there . The owners are very helpful too , they have thought of everything to make their guests comfortable!! Even for doggie visitors 😊 The village is a short walk from the house which is very pretty, The Fisherman’s Return pub does very nice food also the beach is just short walk too . This house is the best equipped holiday home we have ever stayed in can’t recommend it enough.

Although staying in accommodation in Winterton on Sea is not cheap compared to other villages/towns in the area you can see why. We found it a perfect setting for our 4 night mini break with our dog and Mariner's Way bungalow was the perfect accommodation. Located in a very quiet location cul de sac and just a few minutes walk to either the village pub, tea room/PO and of course the sand dunes, perfect for walking the dog. Mariner's Way had two good sized double bedrooms, we only used one for sleeping, which was very comfortable, the other we used as a dressing area/room. A decent size garden overlooked only by the conservatory which was also great for a lazy relaxing few hours between walks. the main living room was again a good size and comfortable. Overall it is a beautiful bungalow in a relaxing area. We would recommend both Mariner's Way and Winterton on Sea for a short break or a week for couples or "older" folks with or without a dog, it's a lovely quiet relaxing village.

I’ve just come back from a short break with my two dogs at Mariner’s. What can I say about the property 🤔WOW WOW WOW! Beautifully decorated, spotlessly clean, very comprehensive welcome pack, amazingly comfortable beds, lovely shower and everything you could possibly need during your stay. as well as a fantastic location.. Lovely and peaceful but still only a short walk from a shop, cafe, fish and chip shop and pub AND a stunningly beautiful beach. We had amazing walks along the beach and then back through the dunes. I can’t wait to go back again and am already planning my next visit.

Just back from short break at Mariner's Way. We loved the bungalow, so modern, light and spacious, the owners have thought of everything it was so well equipped. Loved the garden and spent many happy hours just relaxing on the comfy garden furniture, also helped we had the sun out for the 4 days. We find Winterton on Sea such a nice place to come and stay, we have had a few holidays here over the years and will hopefully be back again soon. Thank you very much.
