The Old Stable is a brand new barn conversion with far reaching views over open countryside in East Somerton. With two beautifully furnished bedrooms, this property is the ideal location for a holiday close to the Norfolk Coast.

Property Details

The Old Stable is a stunning single storey barn conversion, with views over open countryside. Located in rural East Somerton, the cottage is the ideal location to get away from it all whilst being close to the coast. It's a 5 minute drive to Winterton-on-Sea, where long sandy beaches await.

Inside The Old Stable you'll find a modern open plan living area with a comfortable sofa and Smart TV. Plenty of space is set aside for a dining area, and the well equipped kitchen contains a cooker, hob, microwave, fridge/freezer and dishwasher.

A separate utility room houses the washing machine, with a back door leading to a small yard with a lockable shed for bike storage.

The main bedroom has a comfortable king size bed, and the second bedroom has two 3' single beds which can be joined together to make one superking bed. A modern bathroom has a bath and separate walk in shower.

Outside there's plenty of outdoor space with a large garden and patio area, with a charcoal barbecue available from April to the end of September for guests. There's off road parking for 2-3 cars, and free wifi at The Old Stable. 1 dog is welcome at no additional charge. The garden is fully enclosed.

Robin's Rest which sleeps 2 is located next door, meaning these properties can be rented together, totalling 6 guests. Both properties are detached with their own separate enclosed gardens. Robin's Rest and The Old Stable also have their own three acre meadow. A private and safe area for you to exercise or walk your dog. If you wish, you can practice some golf on the mini 4-hole chipping area - just bring your clubs and balls!

We had such a great stay. The place is beautiful, so clean and with lots of nice touches that make it feel very homely. The enclosed garden and field were great. The location is very convenient for the beach. Overall we would highly recommend staying here and would definitely stay again!

This is definitely one of the best places we have stayed in. The accommodation is excellent - very clean, well presented and comfortable. The large enclosed garden is ideal for dogs, as is the meadow at the back of the property. The welcome basket was a lovely extra touch and an indication of the owner's wish to make the experience as positive as possible. We have already booked to return and we would highly recommend it.

It was so homely to arrive to a cosy cottage all decorated for Christmas, this was a lovely surprise, as was the impressive hamper and prosecco. Everything was spotlessly clean and welcoming. Tia (our Great Dane) was made very welcome and provided for with towels, bed, and treats, what more could you ask for. The owners have done a wonderful job of making it special and have thought about everything to make it a pleasant holiday. It's really important for us that a property is spotless on arrival and I must admit first impressions were excellent, the property is cleaned to a very high standard. There is good outside lighting to allow you to walk all the way around the property when it's dark. Ample toiletries and towels were provided, which was a nice touch. The fully enclosed garden was great for letting our dog wander around and the exercise area in the rear field was a bonus. The pitch and putt area is a great idea and was used a few times. It's a great location to explore the area and to access to the dunes and beach at Winterton. Thank you Dawn and Cain, for making our time at The Old Stable a very enjoyable one.

We had the best stay! The stables has everything you could need and more while in your break. The owners have thought of everything, from dog bowls, dog blankets to games for us to play. The garden is huge and really secure, Dougie (our dog) loved every minute out there. There is also a big field at the back of the property for your dog to go on more adventures. The beach where the seals are is only 10-15 mins in the car too.

The only downfall (but I wouldn’t rate the house any lower) was the master bedroom mattress is really uncomfortable but the other bedroom mattresses were fine so we just slept in there. The house has everything you need, the kitchen is well equipped and there are plenty of places to hang your clothes etc. The sofa was so comfy too for the rainy day we had and stayed in. We will hopefully be back next year. Thank you

Had a wonderful time here. Everything was like new and so clean. Our dog loved the huge garden. The big sky of Norfolk was amazing we took some great pictures of the stunning sky from the patio. We had a lovely few days and would highly recommend it. Would definitely come back.

Had a lovely stay at The Old Stables. The view is amazing and was so relaxing, had everything we needed during our stay. An excellent place to stay if you want to go of and explore or just chill and relax. Enjoyed the little touches especially for the our dog Buddy, he enjoyed his treats! Definitely one of our favourite places in Norfolk that we have stayed. Thankyou x

Had a fabulous week in this fantastic Barn conversion, extremely clean, only a short drive to a most wonderful sandy dog friendly beach, the property is very well equipped with beautiful views, the garden is very secure so made our holiday even more relaxing not worrying about the dog escaping, Great communication with the owners and very accommodating, Thank you 😊

We had a delightful stay at The Old Stable from the 12th of May until the 21st May. It’s a beautiful home, & has everything you need & more. The views from the patio are amazing watching the sunset over the fields. There are lots of places to visit in the area , it’s only a 5 minute drive to the lovely beach at Winterton. Would highly recommend this lovely place to family & friends. Our dog Oreo loved the large & safe garden. We would like to thank Dawn & Cain for fabulous welcome pack.

We had a really lovely weekend stay at The Old Stable recently. The Old Stable is light, bright, airy and very well equipped - the owners have thought about everything and it is really comfortable! The garden is really well laid out and our dog (and us) loved it! We would definitely recommend it.

Just returned from my 3rd stay here this year. Absolutely love The Old Stable, you really couldn't wish for anything more. Not only is it beautifully furnished and spotlessly clean it is also located in a great position. The children love Hemsby and enjoy crazy golf and the arcades whilst us adults love the quaintness of Sea Palling. It's a win win for all ages. Many thanks for another fantastic holiday x

A simply beautiful property, very spacious and the decor and contents are to a very high spec. It was just myself, my wife and our dog for a week from 7th October, the weather for the time of year was very good. It's a very short drive from the Old Stable to the wonderful Winterton Beach and Dunes which our dog loves but the front garden and the paddock to the back of the property are fanatstic should you just want to sit and chill at the property. The views are brilliant across the fields and in the evening you can sit out on the patio, or in the lounge looking through the patio doors and watch the sunset. The welcome pack provided for both of us and the one for the dog was most appreciated. We had a really relaxing holiday and without doubt we would stay at the Old Stable again again.

Beautiful property with everything that you need for a lovely break. Decor and contents very high spec.Visited with my dog and elderly parents, plenty of room for us and a great garden and patio for eating chilling outside which was important for them. Good to have the paddock round the back for evening stroll. Five minutes drive to the beach. Owners easy to contact with any questions. I will be booking again for next year.

Having looked at the reviews to date for this property I'm not sure what I can add as everything was to a high standard. It was especially spacious for my husband and I as there was just the 2 of us. Had there been 4 of us the 2nd bedroom is quite small but still plenty of storage. Our papillon was quite content in the utility area at night. Food bags in the kitchen would have been a good addition. The situation & aspect of the property was ideal for us. And finally, communication was good, including a lovely welcome note on our arrival.

We arrived at The Old Stable after a difficult period of time. The moment we got out of the car and saw the amazing views across the fields we all immediately began to relax and feel better. The property is immaculately presented and every thought given to make the stay a comfortable one. With a new puppy going away for the first time we were a little nervous but the large enclosed garden was perfect ! We had a peaceful and relaxing week at The Old Stable. The barn is spacious, decorated beautifully with everything you could need. This is our second stay at The Old Stable and we have booked another trip for August. Now we have stayed at this beautiful holiday home I cannot imagine staying anywhere else it is just perfect. The home is stunning, everything you could possibly want or need is included, the kids have had great fun playing in the large garden as well. The welcome hamper is a lovely addition, with some great treats. All in all just wonderful.

A truly lovely cottage with a fully enclosed large garden, fully grassed. Also a large patio area. The whole cottage was very well equipped and the welcome pack was more than expected. We really enjoyed our stay there.

Absolutely beautiful cottage, blown away by the high quality finish and attention to detail. Loved the little touches, everything seems to have been thought of, and we had everything we needed, both in our day to day living and when hosting family for tea after a walk on the beach. It really felt like a home away from home. Looking forward to staying here again at some point in the future.

The Old Stables is an absolutely beautiful property. The decor is so good it's made us come home and redecorate! There are very pretty views from the house and it's in a quiet location but near to towns and family activities in pretty much every direction. We loved our stay here.

Lovely property in lovely countryside 5 minutes from the beach. Property like new, very clean and well kept with a lovely décor. A really nice space to relax and unwind and would definitely look to stay again when heading back to the area. Very comfortable for 4 adults and a baby. Plus great communication from owners/organisers.

This cottage is beautiful. The furnishings have been very well considered and there is everything you could need. It is spacious with a large garden. There is a bbq for use in the garden. The prosecco and other essentials were a nice touch and unexpected. The local beaches are clean and it was nice to see the seals at this time of the year. We saw deer in the field opposite the cottage on our first day.

We have just returned from our holiday at The Old Stable, it is absolutely beautiful and has everything you could possibly need for a relaxing holiday. The accommodation is immaculately clean and the large garden is great for youngsters. The view from the patio is stunning. I truly wished we could have stayed longer. Had a lovely stay at The Old Stable, it had everything you could need, although a big saucepan for pasta would be a great addition. The house is lovely, beds comfortable and super clean and tidy. We visited Winterton and Sea Palling for the beaches and saw the seals at Horsey Gap which was amazing. Great local farmshops too.

We stayed at the Old Stable at the beginning of August and it was great. This is much more like someone’s actual home than it is a holiday home. We have young children, so the garden was perfect for them. It’s very close to Winterton beach, with good views of the nearby countryside and very peaceful. The house itself is decorated nicely with everything you could need whilst you are on holiday.

Stayed for a week to do some walking on the coastal path and the broads. The cottage was excellent, comfortable bed, quiet and well equipped. The internet was good enough to stream and zoom. There as a lockable shed for the bikes. Nice patio to sit outside and watch the swallow in the field opposite. Would recommend to anyone wanting to stay in the area.

What a find! We booked The Old Stable as a last minute getaway and it certainly delivered on the relaxation front. We were very lucky with the weather given what a miserable May we had, and able to sit out on the patio and enjoy the views. Glad we took our bikes to explore the countryside, and took advantage of the lockable bike storage that the owners have thoughtfully provided. Inside everything is very well kitted out and we returned home after the weekend relaxed and rejuvinated after our stay. Would definitely stay here again.
