We're Open for Business!

After three months in lockdown, we are excited to be re-opening our cottages from tomorrow 4th July.

We’ve been working hard to introduce new measures to make our properties safe for guests, cottage owners and staff whilst retaining the enjoyment of your holiday.

Our New Cleaning Regimes

The cleanliness of our properties has always been important to us, and all our cottage owners and their cleaning staff have introduced additional cleaning products that are certified to kill Coronavirus.

We’ll be paying extra attention to high-touch surface areas such as door handles, light switches, kettles and toasters. As always, bed linen and towels will be washed in accordance with the latest virus-control procedures.

During changeovers, our owners and cleaners will be wearing PPE where appropriate, and working to the latest government guidelines.

Your Holiday Experience

A Winterton Cottages stay has always been a contact-free experience, with guests sent their arrival details and a code for their cottage keysafe. With more time needed for additional cleaning, we’ll be asking guests to adhere to their arrival and departure times so that owners and cleaners have enough time to clean the individual properties whilst maintaining social distancing and adhering to the additional cleaning requirements.

Some of our cottages have chosen to reduce the amount of books, DVDs, games and leaflets in their cottage as we won’t be able to sanitise each of these individual items during a changeover. If you choose to use any of these items we ask that you wash your hands thoroughly after use.

If, during a stay, there is an exceptional reason why we may need to visit a property (for example to rectify an issue in the cottage), we’ll give you as much notice as possible and adhere to all Government social distancing rules.

We will be asking guests to abide by the latest Government recommendations, including guidance regarding who can travel and who can stay overnight together, along with the social distancing advice. If, during a stay, any person starts to show symptoms of Coronavirus, you are advised to travel back home to your main residence as soon as possible and advise us immediately.

To help keep our owners and cleaners safe, we’ll also ask guests to strip their beds including the mattress and pillow protectors, and if requested by the owner to place those items in laundry bags which will be provided. Please empty the fridge, remove any food items from the cupboards and put out any rubbish at the end of your stay.

We realise this is an unprecedented situation – words which have been used a lot lately! We hope that despite the ‘new normal’ you will still able to enjoy your stay in our beautiful part of the world.
