Blogging - time for a catch up!
Blogging is one of those things that I should be doing regularly, but gets consigned to the bottom of the ‘to do’ list when other things come along. And as I haven’t written a blog post in so long it kind of begs the question ‘what on earth have I been doing instead?’
This year has been a busy one at Winterton Cottages. We’ve taken on six new cottages since January, making a total of 10 either in Winterton-on-Sea or nearby. Things have grown considerably since we bought our first holiday cottage (Cleveland House) in Winterton back in 2010, and then we bought our second cottage (Sunny View) two years after that. Gradually people started asking me to do bookings for them, and so we are now up to 10 properties with more coming on board next year.
This year we added three sea view properties to the portfolio – Bonnets, Sea Star and Eva’s Lookout. There’s nothing quite like waking up and looking out to sea first thing in the morning. And all three properties have almost direct access to Winterton Valley and the beach beyond.
We’ve also taken on some traditional properties including the very lovely, and very pink, Ketch Cottage which is in Winterton-on-Sea. And we’ve also branched out to other villages including Hemsby where our latest cottage Elderslie is now available for rental. In the Broadland village of Acle our own property Bure Cottage sits on the edge of the Norfolk Broads and offers a great summer holiday with an outdoor swimming pool.
Despite diversifying we have tried to stay true to our core values – good quality accommodation in great locations. And because we’re local and live in Winterton-on-Sea ourselves, we think we know just a little bit about the area which gives us the edge over big national agencies. We’re always keen to try new pubs, shops and our retriever Digby is always keen to help try out new walks. Did we mention all the cottages are dog friendly? And they all have wifi and enclosed gardens too.
To find your perfect holiday cottage have a look at the selection we offer. And if you need any help with planning your stay, just let us know and we’ll be happy to help.
