Sunny View is a spacious detached bungalow which is decorated in a beachy style and is perfect for seaside holidays with friends or family. Commanding a fantastic position within Winterton village, Sunny View overlooks a village green and pretty thatched cottages.

Property Details

Sunny View is in a great position within the village, less than five minutes walk from the beach and within 50 yards of the village pub. Decorated in a coastal style, the cottage can sleep up to six people comfortably in three bedrooms with two bathrooms.

The lounge at Sunny View overlooks a village green and pretty thatched cottages. It has seating for six people, with a flatscreen wall mounted TV with Freesat, a DVD player and electric stove. The well equipped kitchen has a dining table with seating for six, and a TV. There's an Aga Rangemaster electric cooker, and there is a roomy fridge/freezer and integrated dishwasher. You'll also find a washer/drier in the adjoining utility room. Patio doors in the dining area open out onto the patio and pretty enclosed garden which is safe for children and pets. Garden furniture is provided for outdoor entertaining.

Located at the rear of the cottage, bedroom one has a kingsize bed and ensuite shower room with shower, washbasin and WC. Bedroom two is probably the most beachy of all the rooms at Sunny View, with two standard size single beds and a quirky beach hut wardrobe. Overlooking a village green at the front of the house, bedroom three has a kingsize bed and is the largest bedroom. The main bathroom has a full size whirlpool bath with an electric shower over the bath, washbasin and WC.

There is unlimited free wifi and off road parking for one car, with unrestricted parking on the road at the front and side of the cottage. Three dogs are welcome at Sunny View. The garden is enclosed by 6ft fencing at the rear. At the front there is a low 4ft wall.

This was our first stay at Sunny View and the house proved to be ideal for what we needed. Lots of space, clean and well equipped. Plenty of room for our son, two grandchildren and two dogs who both enjoyed the very pleasant, well kept garden. Kitchen was well equipped, and other equipment and appliances were very good. Very large oven and grill, good dishwasher and washer / dryer, and a television that seemed capable of almost anything (plus another in the large kitchen / dining room). Also very close to all the essentials: pub, fish & chip shop, post office and stores, and the beach.

We book to stay at Sunny View twice a year and I can honestly say that we would not want to stay anywhere else.
A wonderful 3 bedroomed, spacious bungalow with lovely furnishings in the heart of the village overlooking the green and the pretty thatched cottages. When we arrive, it is like we are home. The bungalow is so homely and it has some very thoughtful touches like the books in the kitchen and the DVD's.
The garden is beautifully maintained and there is plenty of room for the dogs to run around. The parking space at the bungalow is very handy and it is nice to have the car off of the road. Winterton-on-sea village is lovely and we have found everyone we have met to be very friendly. The fish and chip shop is a must, very yummy! The village supermarket is well stocked and very handy. We did not visit the pub this time but going by previous visits, the food is delicious and plentiful. There is a large selection of draft beers and ciders.

We had a lovely time at Sunny View and Rusty really enjoyed exploring the garden. The bungalow is ideally located for all the amenities of Winterton and just a short walk to the beach. The weather was kind to us which was an added bonus.

Spent a lovely week at Sunny View. The bungalow is in a good location for all local amenities and easy reach of other nearby beaches etc. Parking is good. Well equipped and clean. Hamper a nice touch. Would definitely return we were also very lucky with the weather we love walking on beach and sand dunes and so do our two dogs

We had a fantastic stay at Sunny View. The bungalow is beautifully decorated and has everything and more that you could want in a holiday home. The beds were so comfortable - we all slept really well 😊 The garden was lovely and the dogs loved chasing and playing in the different areas. The patio area was a perfect sun trap. We would highly recommend this property and would love to visit again. We had such a lovely tranquil relaxing break. Thank you for having us 😊

We stayed at Sunny View from the 4th of August for one week. The home was spotlessly clean and there was a delightful welcome pack of goodies which were locally sourced and delicious. The furnishings were very comfortable, especially the beds - I don't think we have had such good sleep anywhere away as here before. The kitchen was equipped with everything you would need. An easy walk to the beach and village so the children were happy (makes a change). We have visited several different homes in Winterton on Sea over the last decade and this was our absolute favourite. Upon leaving we unfortunately left behind some expensive goodies - the owner duty returned them via post, an absolute star. We can thoroughly recommend this home.

We have just returned from a 4 night stay at Sunny View. It was recommended by a friend and it was all that they said. Beautifully appointed. Well equipped and very tasteful decor. Stayed at Sunny View mid April and were very lucky with the weather; could take advantage of the lovely garden with sun all day (on the patio with doors open from the kitchen and side/front garden with seating for late afternoon sunbathing). Excellent position for all local amenities (few minutes walk). Secure, gated parking on the premises for one large car, was a bonus. Wouldn’t hesitate to stay again and highly recommend to anyone wanting a relaxing, carefree break.

Enjoyed a lovely long weekend at Sunny View. It is so spacious and well equipped with lots of thoughtful touches to make it feel relaxing and special. We enjoyed sitting in the autumn sunshine on the pretty terrace that is really private. Also enjoyed being close to the sea and the pub! We spent a lovely long weekend at Sunny View. It is so spacious and well equipped with lots of thoughtful touches. We stayed during the last week of August to early September 2022 and we simply didn't want to leave! The cottage was extremely comfortable and had all the essentials plus the convenience of being a 5 minute walk from the beach. The location is perfect for those wanting a quiet retreat. The kitchen was well equipped and is a good size for all the family to gather. The bedrooms were comfortable and beautifully designed. The living room was a cosy place to retreat to when having a lazy day with Netflix. The book collection is impressive and while we didn't get time to read, it will definitely be worth a look next time. The house is an easy walk from the local pub and shops which are well stocked. Additionally the village made for an excellent star gazing location when the skies are clear! Thank you for a comfortable stay, I cannot wait to return later in the year for when the seals arrive.

We have just returned from a very relaxing, much needed week at Sunny View. We have been visiting Winterton- on-Sea and staying at Sunny View for many years now. We really would not want to stay in any other holiday cottage. As soon as we drive past the church, it is exhale and relax, we have arrived! We just love staying here. The garden is so secure for the pups and is beautifully maintained. The bungalow is lovely, spacious and very clean. It also has everything you need for a relaxing week. Winterton is a very pretty village and we have always felt very welcome. The beach is a short walk away and is gorgeous. We tried the fish and chips as the new owners have taken over and we were very impressed. Yummy!

A lovely 2 weeks of R+R - we stayed very local and didn't use the car at all for 2 weeks - but the sun was shining, the garden is beautiful, private and enclosed. The welcome basket was well received and our border collie didn't want to leave. In fact whilst we were packing the car she walked off and wouldn't move from the front room! This is our 3rd stay in Winterton and definitely the best accommodation.

We had a really wonderful time at Sunny View. The cottage was clean and comfortable and had everything and more available for the perfect stay. The garden is beautiful and our little rescue had a great time exploring and settled in straight away. We were blessed with lovely weather so enjoyed the garden very much, it definitely enhanced our stay. We did meet the owner who was lovely and when we called to ask about an issue we had starting the WiFi she was there straight away, always good to know if you did have a real problem. All in all a brilliant holiday in lovely surroundings in a beautiful village with the best dog friendly beach we have found, and booking through winterton cottages was easy and friendly. Can’t wait to return next year if we can.

We absolutely loved our short break at Sunny View. It's in the perfect location with beautiful views from the front windows. It's very spacious, bright and spotlessly clean and the garden is stunning. We loved the way wraps itself around the cottage with secret corners that the dogs really enjoyed exploring. We were met with a lovely welcome basket on our arrival too, which was very much appreciated. We've stayed in quite a few Winterton cottages, but this was the best yet. Can't wait to return.

We have stayed here a number of times. The cottage is spacious, set in a lovely lush garden and very close to the dog friendly pub, beach and tea shop. It is well equipped and comfortable. We didn’t want for anything. Winterton is a very good base for visiting large parts of Norfolk, and it is always pleasant getting back to the cottage.

I have just had another wonderful week in Sunny View. I have stayed there before and it really is the most perfect place to stay. I especially love to have the television in the kitchen; great if you are cooking, eating or just sitting at the table. My rescue dog absolutely loved the garden. She enjoyed exploring all the different areas and the garden is so beautifully kept. Sunny View is really close to the dunes, the two shops and the Fishermens pub. The new owners of the chip shop opened it just before I left so I will be trying it out on my next visit.

Really lovely place to stay, we had plenty of space as a family of 4 with a dog. The bungalow was clean and warm, with good quality beds and showers. Well located with everything you need in easy reach; pub, fish and chips, coffee, shop. The food at "Norfolk's Edge" in the Airstream at the beach car park was impressive (will have to revisit in warmer weather!). The Dunes are beautiful for walking on. Was lovely seeing in the guest book how many repeat visitors love Sunny View, and we hope to return one day as well!

It was a delight to stay in this extremely comfortable bungalow, made even more special as it used to belong to my husband’s grandfather and grandmother Arthur Empson and Edie Green. It’s hard to believe that in the 1950’s it was a fish and chip shop! No sign now in the spacious lounge of its previous use or of the little sweet shop once housed in the other front room, now a bedroom. My husband and his brother and sister were all brought up in the village and enjoyed reminiscing strolling around the area. The whole bungalow has been very tastefully decorated and all the fixtures and fittings are of top quality. We were impressed with what l can only describe as a library in the spacious, well equipped kitchen. We were very lucky with the weather and did, in fact, have a very ‘Sunny View’. Thank you for a lovely staycation and we hope to visit again soon.

Our first holiday in Winterton-on-Sea and what a beautiful area of Norfolk. The beach is so clean and stretches for miles and miles. We were fortunate to secure a last minute booking at ‘Sunny View’ and what a great choice it turned out to be. It’s literally a 5 minute walk to the beach which our dogs loved. The nautical themed decoration throughout the property provides a thoroughly calming atmosphere - for the perfect family getaway. We will definitely plan a return visit in the not too distant future.

We’ve just spent a fantastic week at Sunny View with our three daughters and our dog. Absolutely loved the house which is near the centre of the village, yet in a very quiet location. Walking distance to beach, pub, tearoom and shops. Refurbished to a high standard, we found the spacious cottage to have everything we needed, a very well equipped kitchen, comfortable beds, a beautiful garden with outdoor seating, and comfy sofas in the living room where you can watch TV with surround sound. Lots of books to read and DVDs to watch but we were lucky with the weather so spent a lot of time exploring the area. Planning to return next year!

We had a 2 year old and 4 year old who loved the garden and proximity to a beautiful beach, which we could go backwards and forwards to without facing queues for car parks. We have recently returned from a weeks stay at Sunny View. I cannot recommend this property enough. It has secure, off road parking, a lovely, spacious and enclosed garden, the interior is of a very high standard and extremely well equipped. It’s a welcoming and very comfortable property in a central position in the village. We have visited Winterton a number of times, this is by far the best place we have stayed in. We are now looking to book another week later in the year at Sunny View. Winterton Cottages were extremely helpful and efficient and we’ll be back soon.

I knew Sunny View was going to be lovely from the photos and we were not disappointed. I was thrilled when we opened the door to find everything just as I was hoping. The layout of the garden was a bonus. Lots of plants and shrubs to interest us and the location was just ideal. If you're a dog lover you have to be in your element. Lovely walks in a lovely part of the country.

We have just spent a glorious fortnight in Sunny View. It is a delightful cottage with plenty of space with an extremely well equipped kitchen. Our Retriever particularly enjoyed the mature gardens, which are the perfect sun-trap for we humans! The cottage is ideally situated, close to the beach, the shops and a mere 50 yards from the "Fisherman's Return". We were made to feel very welcome and the cottage was spotlessly clean. I would recommend Sunny View as a superb holiday retreat.

We have just come back from our 10th stay at Sunny View. We love staying here so much. It really does feel like home when we arrive.
Sunny View is luxurious and every single item inside has been well thought through. From the big snuggly beds, power shower through to the books and DVDs and the delicious welcome basket. It is so spacious, clean, light and airy and you have lovely views across the green looking at the pretty thatched cottages. The garden is very secure, well kept and looked beautiful during our stay. The patio area is a sun trap and we were able to sit out a lot due to the good weather. Winterton-on-Sea is a very friendly village, the pub is great for food and dogs are welcome. The supermarket is well stocked and the post office/shop has some lovely gifts. Do try the Fish and Chip shop, very yummy! The beach is a 5 minute walk away and you will not be disappointed, it is amazing for a dog walk. We cannot wait to go back in September as this really is our little haven of peace and calm and the perfect place to unwind.

We keep coming back! The cottage itself is delightful and entirely dog friendly. It sits in a dog friendly village a stones throw from the welcoming dog friendly pub where you can avoid ‘self catering’ (if you wish). The village has useful shops, and sits just a few steps from the dog friendly beach and dunes. It is also a good location for exploring the NE Norfolk coast and Broads, and Norwich too.

We stayed at Sunny View May 2018. We would definitely recommend it as a place to stay, it's a lovely cottage, very well equipped, home from home. Location is perfect for exploring the Norfolk coast and countryside or just walking down to the Beach at Winterton. Garden is fully enclosed we took our Spaniel with us and she enjoyed exploring the garden. The welcome package was greatly appreciated, would book again. Thank you.

Sunny View...we’d move in tomorrow if we could! We particularly liked pottering in the sunny, spacious kitchen with the doors open to the lovely garden - perfectly secure for the dogs to wander in and out without worrying. We also liked the views from the lounge to the green and pretty thatched cottages. Sunny View is a very homely bungalow in the heart of Winterton and we found it to be perfectly positioned for all that this delightful village has to offer - beach, pub and handy shops are all just a short walk away. This was our fourth stay with Winterton Cottages - our favourite holiday cottage agency! We like their personal touch and the fact that they are accessible. Absolutely loved this bungalow. Our two little dogs enjoyed playing and sunning themselves in the garden. The bungalow was very well equipped and very clean and tidy. Decor lovely. Couldn't find anything bad to say at all, and this bungalow would be my perfect home and is in the perfect setting. The village of Winterton on Sea is lovely. Loved being able to get up in the morning and a short stroll took us to the more or less deserted beach for a beautiful walk with our dogs who really enjoyed being free to run around and play. The Dunes cafe served a tasty breakfast and had some beautiful looking cakes on offer too. Unfortunately we had to leave early due to the ill health of my father-in-law back at home but thoroughly enjoyed our stay here and hope to come back again and stay the full week next time!!

Recent visit to Sunny View was a total pleasure, the property is just perfect a real home from home feel. Our dog Indie was in his element with the beach walks and sitting at the local pub for drinks. The property inside and out was in a lovely clean condition with a secure garden. As we attended at Easter the chocolate Easter Chicken was a nice gesture and tasted great!

We have stayed here for three years now and are coming back again this year. A lovely bungalow in a great location. The owners have given a great deal of thought to every detail and have created a modern holiday home with all modern conveniences. It is clean and comfortable with a very pretty garden. My family love it and so do my dogs. Perfect location for a walk to the beach with the family or to the dunes with the dogs. The owners are friendly and extremely helpful. I would highly recommend.

We really enjoyed our stay at Sunny View, a superb bungalow which, for us, ticked all the boxes. A very well presented and well equipped cottage, warm and cosy with lovely comfortable beds. We really enjoyed our short break and were made very welcome by Rachel and Digby. I would recommend this cottage to anyone, especially dog owners as the whole village appears very dog friendly, the post office is very well stocked with dog accessories and treats and the dog walking on the dunes and the beach is fantastic. Village pub pretty good as well.

We love the bungalow and it has everything we need for a super holiday. Nice to have top quality equipment! We were three generations plus two collie x dogs so our needs are varied! Lovely sunshine and some beautiful Autumn colours in the garden complemented the beautiful décor. We enjoyed long walks along the beach and around the Broads with plenty of stops for refreshment (plenty of good local produce). Some of us made it to Norwich for some retail therapy! Many thanks. We were very excited about our stay in Norfolk and the minute we set foot in Sunny View we were delighted to find that it exceeded all our expectations. What a beautiful job you have done! The bungalow is a home from home and you have clearly thought carefully about all the essentials that families need and usually forget! We were amazed at all the extras that we discovered. We were really impressed with the childrens' plates, cutlery, cleaning products, bin bags etc. The list could go on!

It has been a pleasure to stay in such a lovely holiday home. The children have loved the garden and we have thoroughly enjoyed being outside for our evening meal in such pretty surroundings. We will be telling friends and family about this fab little gem, especially the very comfy beds (vital on a family holiday)!

The moment I stepped in I loved this cottage! The decor and spacious rooms felt like home and more. A family holiday with our labrador Lexie and in-laws has been a very special break due to this luxury cottage and location.

The dog has loved this holiday - the beach being so close and dog friendly - has been a highlight. Our three year old son has had a fantastic and very memorable time, particularly loving his seaside bedroom!

The personal touches and amenities in this cottage are of five star quality compared to others I have stayed in over the last four years. I can honestly say, hand on heart, I could live here and be a very happy person!!

We have had a fantastic few days at Sunny View. The weather has been very good to us, even if it was a little chilly. The cottage is beautifully decorated and very well equipped. It is by far the best cottage we have ever stayed in (and we've stayed in plenty), and we didn't want to leave!

Been all along the coast from Winterton to Wells. Went to Sheringham and Cromer, and around the Broads but enjoyed relaxing at the cottage most of all. Will definitely be back, wouldn't bother looking anywhere else now!

This has been one of the best week's holiday we have ever had. This bungalow is absolutely delightful and I can honestly say it is the best equipped place that we have ever stayed (and we've stayed in plenty)! The position is perfect too and we have walked miles every day along the dunes and the beach. Poppy our retriever has been in seventh heaven and no muddy paws to be wiped. Thank you so much for everything at Sunny View - lovely spacious, beach themed, sunny rooms, very comfy beds, all the equipment we could wish for. Fabulous garden with 'secret corners' for the children to explore. And Winterton was an absolute delight, miles of sandy, safe beach 5 minutes walk away, beautiful flowers in well kept gardens, excellent children's playground on the rec., village pub and shops and a lovely beach cafe. A 'real' seaside holiday for all six of us, ages 1 - 66!!! 5 star recommendation from us all.

We have had a wonderful week in your beautiful bungalow. We came to ‘get away from it all’ and for Maisie (dog) to have freedom to run and run and Winterton-on-Sea ticked all the boxes. We were very lucky with the weather – 2 scorching days, one spent on the Broads in a day boat and the other walking round Fairhaven Water Gardens, and only got rained on once! However, what an advantage being able to walk Maisie on the beach or in the valley – no muddy dog to deal with when we got back!

The bungalow is so well equipped – you have thought of everything and the décor is very restful. We enjoyed eating out in the local pub, Hermanus for the Sunday carvery, and the beach café for morning coffee and afternoon tea. The barbecue was also put to good use.

It has been an absolute pleasure to be the first guests in this wonderful bungalow and to discover Winterton-on-Sea. What a charming and friendly village……we have had a fantastic week and expect we might return.
