  • We had an excellent holiday at Sea Clef. The house is well equipped and comfortable. The location is truly wonderful, tremendous views including the stars sky at night.. The steps from the garden (completely enclosed for those like us bringing their dog) direct to the dunes and then the beach were much used! The steps are fairly steep at points, but decently spaced and would be fine for most visitors I think. The village centre is a short walk away offering the excellent pub, café, fish and chip shop and village store. The Norfolk coastal path runs along the dunes behind the house for some wandering (Horsey in one direction and Caister in the other are lovely walks) along the coast or heading inland.

  • My daughter and I stayed at Sea Clef from 26 to 30 June 2023. We had a wonderful time. The property had everything we needed and its location was fantastic. As soon as we entered the front door, we could see the dunes and sea, due to the clever design allowing a view straight through to the rear of the property. The rear garden has steps down to the dunes and valley and it takes all of five minutes to walk to the beach. Fantastic. It was so relaxing and peaceful. The only (pleasurable) noise was from the different varieties of birds we observed every day in the garden. Rachel was very helpful in sorting the booking out for us and it was a pleasure to deal with her. Thank you; it was a lovely few days.

  • What a wonderful, peaceful location Sea Clef is in, couldn’t be more perfect for dunes and beach access. The views from the property are just as the pictures and we were so very lucky with the weather to be able to enjoy a leisurely walk from Sea Clef to the village, dunes and beach. There is also step access from the garden down to the dunes which is really only suitable for the more mobile however if you can, it is a very quick way to get to the beach from the garden, 4-5mins tops and you are there! Sea Clef had all you need for a relaxing, home from home break and the staff at Winterton Cottages couldn’t have been more helpful and on hand to answer/assist with any queries. Would definitely go back again Thank you to all the team at Winterton Cottages.

  • Had a fabulous week in the lovely cottage. Fully equipped with great sea views. We took my elderly parents and they felt straight at home the minute we got there. My dad has dementia and he was so relaxed and could not get over the stunning view. Great location, near to so much. Recharged all our batteries. Thank you.

  • My wife wanted to take the dogs on holiday to the disgust of me and our son who wanted to jump on a plane somewhere…..How pleasantly surprised I was and I now think taking the dogs away will become an annual event. Sea Clef is a lovely clean property, with amazing views. The Steps to the beach from the garden will probably be a challenge for those with mobility issues, however, do not let this put you off as there are other beaches within walking distance or a short drive. The local pub is a short walk away and serves great food and I also recommend the local Fish & Chip shop. We had a relaxing time away with nice walks in a dog friendly environment. We highly recommend Sea Clef and will definitely be back.

  • Had a great week in this beautiful property, garden & view are amazing although must say steps are hard work. Would have liked some deck chairs or similar and a BBQ in the garden, so hopefully this may be added. Sea clef is well worth the booking and location is peaceful, Winterton Cottages helpful as always whilst the area is beautiful and well kept.

OWNER RESPONSE: Thank you for your feedback and pleased you enjoyed your stay. We'll be adding some more chairs to the garden later this year. Hope to be able to welcome you back to Sea Clef in the future.

  • We had fabulous weather to enjoy our stay at Sea Clef a deceptively spacious, comfortable, clean bungalow in Winterton on Sea. Situated in a quiet road with views directly over the sand dunes to the sea! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Unfortunately the steps at the end of the garden were too steep for my elderly labrador who at 13 cannot manage stairs anymore but she enjoyed local walks and meeting the neighbours. Shout out to Georgina for answering my questions about location very promptly. Thank you much appreciated.

  • We've been visiting Winterton for years and have stayed in many properties. This is one of the better ones and is light, modern and comfortable. It has a lovely view of the dunes/sea and direct access from the garden (but beware, steps uneven). Bush Road is lovely and quiet and only a 5 minute walk to the centre of the village. I would highly recommend this property.. I would just feedback to the owners though, that it would have been nice to have some comfortable sun loungers/relaxer chairs in the garden. You want to sit out and enjoy the weather/ view but the furniture is not comfortable for relaxing on.. a BBQ would also enhance a stay as well as pegs for the washing line for drying towels and swimwear. However, it didn't detract from another lovely week in Winterton though...

  • Very spacious & quiet accommodation. Very clean & well kitted-out kitchen. Fantastic location - access to dunes & the beach from the garden.. my dog loved it! Also went to Norwich shopping; a boat trip on the Broads; and Hippodrome Circus, in Great Yarmouth.. ooh.. and ate lots of lovely homemade cake in the many local cafes .. so we had a great time! A perfect stay!

  • My sister just came home from USA & we stayed at Sea Clef last week, we were blessed with amazing weather which was perfect. Fabulous place to stay, the view through the interior window/patio doors as you open the front door is great, brilliant design! Lovely & clean with everything you need & a bottle of bubbly to welcome you, we will see you next year!

  • Great cottage - really well situated with steps into the dunes. Cottage itself was great, spacious with a really well appointed kitchen, plus decent sized garden. Added bonus of additional small room upstairs with table football in it!

  • Great Chillax at Sea Clef - good facilities, friendly locals and the real bonus, overlooking the sea. The sunrises (you have to get up at 5am), were spectacular, no wonder they named it the sunrise coast! Sheringham/Blakeney/Holt are all worth a visit if you don't mind doing the miles. Liked Winterton so much, we are planning another weeks stay in October.

  • It was lovely to come back to Sea Clef again. As before everything you could want to ensure you have an enjoyable holiday is here. Very nice remodelled kitchen. We would definitely recommend this property.

  • Lovely long weekend at Sea Clef. Cottage is perfect for dog walks over the dunes to the beach. Weather was good to us too! Would definitely book again.

  • We stayed at Sea Clef last week and what an amazing home! When you walk into the property it feels very spacious with a great Lounge, excellent kitchen and very comfy beds. One very special bonus for this property is the absolutely wonderful views overlooking the sand dunes and the sea. The views were spectacular and we could not stop looking out over the sea at sunrise and at sunset - beautiful. Also Winterton Cottages were very helpful during out stay. When we arrived, the fire alarm on the ceiling was clicking so we phoned Winterton Cottages and within 10 mins, Rachel called at Sea Clef and changed the battery inside the fire alarm. Excellent service! We therefore thoroughly recommend Sea Clef and Winterton Cottages to anyone who is looking for a very special holiday!

  • Beautifully appointed and very comfortable bungalow with amazing sea views. Sea Clef makes for a very relaxing stay by the sea. Lots of thought has gone into making sure you have all you need from dishwasher tablets to portable mats to sit on the beach and bucket and spade for the kids. Tea, coffee, salt, sugar was provided and plenty of dishes for 6 although we were only 4. There were some issues with the plumbing in one of the 2 bathrooms but the agent has advised this will be renovated soon. The bungalow is very spacious and is bigger than what it seems from the photos. Would highly recommend. The locals in Winterton-on-Sea were very welcoming and seeing the seals in February down the road at Horsey was an absolute delight!

  • What a great property, very well equipped spotlessly clean and a view to die for. Would recommend this property to anyone wishing to have a quiet few days by the sea.

  • Just returned from a fabulous week at Sea Clef, a great property, spotlessly clean, well equipped and fantastic location. We were blessed with the weather and really enjoyed just being able to walk the dog directly from the garden through the Winterton Valley and on to the beach.

  • I have just had a really lovely week at Sea Clef with absolutely perfect weather. The view of the sea and the dunes is amazing and the back garden a good size and dog safe. Sea Clef is really well equipped with everything you could possibly want. Thank you for leaving the chocolates and milk, much appreciated. Winterton is a superb place to stay. The beach stretches for miles and is dog friendly, but make sure you aren't near any seals if you dog is off the lead. The new "pods" that have replaced the Dunes cafe do great food and Poppy's is just the most perfect place for coffee, cakes and a light meal. Thank you to the manager who is really supportive. I shall be back.

  • Just on our way home from a fabulous week here. Spotlessly clean on arrival. Very spacious, has everything needed for a family or adults, two bathrooms, well equipped kitchen, washing machine, tumble dryer, family size fridge freezer, all crockery and cutlery, chopping boards knives, kitchen utensils, iron, ironing board, hoover, hair dryers. Large TV with free view, very good WiFi, radio. Secure garden. Beach is a beautiful sandy beach that stretches for miles. Lots of seals to see. Hosts are excellent and checked with us via message if everything was OK or if we needed anything. Arrival essentials such as milk, tea, coffee and sugar. Lots to do and see around the area. Would highly recommend a stay here and will definitely go back.
