In a peaceful location overlooking the village green in Winterton-on-Sea, Ketch Cottage offers a relaxing stay for couples or families all year round. The cottage is walking distance from the centre of the village, and just five minutes stroll from the beach.

Property Details

Ketch Cottage is a pretty thatched cottage, one of a pair overlooking the village green in Winterton-on-Sea. It provides a perfect place for a family holiday, or a getaway at any time of year. As well as being five minutes stroll from the beach, Ketch Cottage is close to all the village amenities including the local pub, fish & chip shop, Dunes cafe, post office and village shop.

The living room overlooks the village green and has ample seating with TV with a Sky Box that includes Netflix and Amazon Prime streaming. There is a wood burning stove (no fuel provided). Cupboard in the lounge has an iron, ironing board, travel cot, bassinet and highchair for guest use. Doors at the rear of the living room open onto the patio at the back of the cottage. The separate dining room also has doors opening onto the patio. The owners have made sure that the kitchen is well equipped with an electric cooker, hob, microwave and full size dishwasher. In the utility area there's a washer/drier along with a fridge and separate freezer.

The downstairs bathroom has a bath with shower over it, wash basin and WC. Upstairs, the two bedrooms are tastefully furnished with a standard double bed in the main bedroom overlooking the village green. The second bedroom has the same view with two standard size single beds. There is a hairdryer at the property.

At the rear of the cottage the back garden has two areas: a large patio with garden furniture, and then steps lead up to a pretty lawn area planted with shrubs and trees. The back garden is fully enclosed and safe for dogs - two dogs are welcome and the beach is only a 5 minute walk away. Off road parking is at the front of the cottage.

We stayed over New year and had a lovely week in this cosy cottage. It was nice to arrive to a warm house with a Christmas tree and a welcome basket of treats. The kitchen, although quite small is well stocked and it was nice to have a separate dining room. The garden was perfect for our spaniel. It's location was good for walks onto the dunes/beach and the shop and pub. We would definitely stay again.

Wonderful stay at Ketch Cottage, well equipped kitchen ,comfortable furnishings. Lovely quiet location within 5 mins of the sand dunes and the beach, ideal for our dogs. Lovely to see the seals swimming in the sea at Winterton and we walked to Horsey Gap to see the seal colony.

Great holiday last week staying in Ketch Cottage. Lovely holiday & a perfect location for everything Winterton-on-Sea. Cosy cottage ideal for dogs with its enclosed garden. We will definitely be coming back to Winterton-on-Sea in the near future.

Excellent cottage for my wife and I and our Collie. Very well positioned. Pleasantly furnished and with all the bits that one might need. Good back garden meant that we were able to sit outside well sheltered from the cold north easterly which kept temperatures below 15 degrees all week! Hoping to return next year and beyond. (Tip - if you want to use the fish and chip shop phone your order in advance. Their system works well!)

Another excellent stay at Ketch, the owner kindly with prior arrangement allowed us a slightly earlier check in given the weather and housekeeping being complete. Cottage lovely & warm, plenty of hot water and cosy, given the minus temperatures it was needed :)

Had a lovely comfortable week in September at Ketch Cottage. Cottage had everything you needed and was very well equipped. The garden was very secure for Spud our dog who loved it. Conveniently situated in centre of village, short walk to dunes and beach and ideal for lovely meal at Fishermans Return. Have already booked again for next year. Milk and biscuits much appreciated too. Thank you

This cottage is in a Beautiful location, quiet and has a lovely outlook onto a grass area. Parking for several cars making it safe and secure. Well equipped cottage, warm & homely. The cleanliness is pretty good too, which is quite rare of late! The garden is very secure - there is no way a dog could escape - we have an escape artist so this is a high priority for us! Loved our stay - we have re booked!

We thoroughly enjoyed our week's holiday at Ketch Cottage , its a beautiful thatched cottage light and bright inside and spotlessly clean with a lovely sunny garden which gets the sun all day long from morning till night , enclosed so very dog friendly The cottage its well equipped with everything we needed, even for our dog with bowls towels ect. Location is fabulous, village green in front of the cottage and minutes walk to the dunes and beach which our dog absolutely loved the freedom of so much space to run around , then onto a beautiful sandy beach .

Lovely cottage, well furnished, very cosy with lovely garden which is well secure for dogs. The cottage is well situated in the centre of the village which means close to local shops,tea rooms and pub. Short walk to the beach.

Spent a lovely week staying in Ketch Cottage. The house was warm, comfortable and well equipped. I liked that a list was provided stating items like washing up liquid and hand soap were provided. Winterton is a lovely village with easy access to the beach and sand dunes. We walked along the coast path to Hemsby one day and also did the circular walk out via the church ruins at Somerton. We had dinner in The Fishermans Return one evening which was very enjoyable and also used the chip shop and local shop. Will definitely return to Winterton.

Lovely cottage. Weather was unkind but still managed to get out to explore and walk my faithful hound Ed on the beach each day. Not sure I'll be back for a while but maybe after a few months when the pandemic is under control and life gets back to normal!

Lovely cottage and well equipped. Good base from which to explore. Dogs loved the beach and dunes. First holiday since lockdown! Visited Great Yarmouth, Motorcycle Museum, Sheringham and best of all Poppylands Tea Rooms - amazing! Friendly pub opposite - good food.

Very comfortable & cosy cottage,enclosed garden. 5min walk to the beach and sand dunes. Fish shop near by or go to the dog friendly pub ( food very good) just over the road. Being to Ketch cottage quite a few times now. Back again next year.

Arrived Easter weekend for a week. Went to the beach 2/3 times a day, as the weather was so good. The cottage was very comfortable and a lovely place to come home to. Went to Hemsby and the café on the beach was dog friendly, which for me being on my own, was a bonus. Dunes Café at Winterton do not allow dogs*, so could not say what it is like, as I would not leave my dog outside on its own. When I saw that thatcher's were next door, I thought it would be a problem. But the lads were very considerate, polite and friendly. Will be coming again.

* owner's comment - the Dunes cafe does have seating outside where you can sit with dogs, and also beach huts for people to sit in with their dogs in case of bad weather.

What a great cosy cottage. Clean and comfy beds. We visited in March so weather was not kind enough to allow to sit in garden but imagine in summer it lovely. Loved the log burner. Will definitely visit this cottage again.
