Property Details

Captain's Nook offers a warm and comfortable welcome to guests, whilst retaining the charm and features of the original coastguard cottage. The cottage is located at the end of a pathway along a row of cottages, which means there is no passing traffic and the cottage benefits from a fantastic large garden. Free parking is available on the lane leading to the cottage, or next to the village green.

Downstairs the living room overlooks the back garden, and has a wood burning stove, smart TV, DVD player and bluetooth speakers. The well equipped kitchen has a range cooker, dishwasher, washing machine and tumble dryer. A separate pantry under the stairs houses a second fridge with a freezer compartment. The downstairs bathroom has a bath with a shower over it, and there is a separate WC.

Upstairs there are three beautiful bedrooms, all furnished with nautical touches. The master bedroom has a comfortable king size bed and an ensuite WC and washbasin, whilst the second bedroom has two 2'6" single beds which can be converted to a king size double bed. The third bedroom has children's size 2'6" bunk beds and overlooks the back garden.

Outside, the large enclosed garden is over 100ft long, with loungers and garden furniture provided. A maximum of one dog is welcome at Captain's Nook but please note the hedge at the bottom of the garden is not fully secure. Opposite the front of the cottage, the old laundry has been converted to a games room which has tabletop games including pool, table-football and table tennis. A picket fence and gate enclose the front of the property. There is a travel cot and stair gate at the cottage.

  • Lovely cosy cottage & nice garden for the dog! Narrow lane to park so we parked outside village hall. Always a lovely place to visit!

  • We’ve just spent a very relaxing and comfortable week at Captain’s Nook. The cottage is equipped with everything thing you need. The start of our week was rather chilly and we found the electric heaters very efficient. The garden had a sunny spot all day. The enclosed garden was excellent for our dog and the games room was a bonus too. Comfortable beds with good pillows and quality towels were all appreciated. Many thanks!

  • Stayed here with my dad and dog and had a lovely time. The house is comfortable, with everything that you would need for a self catering break. The garden is huge and perfect for dogs; I even saw a deer in the garden when I let the dog out at dawn - such a surprise that we all stood and looked at each other and then the deer jumped back over the back fence! Did not use the car all week as beach so close that did not want to go anywhere else. Would recommend for anyone wanting a dog friendly break away with whole family.
